BTW, carb cleaner works well for checking vac leaks. Spray in the suspect area and if the idle climbs, you have a leak

^^^ you can re-use the gaskets.

+1,000,000 to the easy-out, re-tap & do over. Might as well try that before bothering to buy a new manifold.

I'm surprised dealer had the bolts in stock (every time I need something uncommon they never have it).

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Inter...item2300cbb850 is the part, cool that it's upside down, I couldn't remember where the #3 bolt hole went but you can see it in the pic, no danger of the bolt falling into the engine. I honestly wouldn't worry about it if it were mine, engineers always over design things...

If you're already in there, use an easy out and then tap/die set.

Its really not that hard.

Otherwise, buy the INTAKE manifold (collector) not the upper/lower plenum and just replace.

I decided to just get the intake manifold. It was only $77 shipped, pretty much equal to the price of a easy out kit and tap/die kit. This should be much easier since it's pretty straight forward. Thanks for the help fellas!

There is a solution to your problem but you prolly gonna fvck **** up even more by doing it.
Do you find your suggestion in any way helpful to his questions? If not, I'd say keep your comment aka criticism to yourself if you just find talking crap and humiliating people are fun. Seriously man wtf is that all about.

that's just his forum personality... I think he likes to get in character of his screen name... don't take it personally - he's not anyone you need to impress.

I get you that generallly he's known for being a a'hole, a douchbag to many others on this forum, just like you said maybe he wants to characterized himself as a "joker", but read what he had said. If you were asking a genuine question and expecting some helpful feedbacks, how does that make you feel seeing the first reply is in such a destructive criticism. And... I am in no way of trying to impress him.. why would I..?
