TL Navi in G35

I have heard that the TL's have a better navi system than we do and as I did not purchase my car with the navi system in it, I was wondering if it was at all possible to wire up the TL's system in ours.

Re: TL Navi in G35

Do some shopping around, I am sure there are aftermarket navigational systems that are better than whats installed in any car.

Absolutly not... unfortunatly factory navigation systems are tied into several other componets. i.e - stereo - central locking system, keyless entry, etc etc... Also a TL nav system is cd ROM and G35 is dvd ROM -

The TL navi is DVD-ROM. So are the TSX and the Honda Accord.

Re: TL Navi in G35

where ppl say the tl navi is better is in the user interface (UI). i checked out the tl before getting the g. didn't get navi in my car, so feel free to tell me to stfu!

i did notice tho taht the acura ergonomics are way better then the g. in test driving, i actually used the tl's navi cause it was so simple to use. you didnt have to learn the ui. it was already obvious.

i went with the g, cause of:

1. pimp factor
2. grin factor
3. tl is "wrong weel drive!" torque steer and understreer disturb me!

Re: TL Navi in G35

Personally, I love the Infiniti Navi system. We have it on both the G35 and the FX35. The Navi's "Birdseye View" is exceptional, although I agree the TL Navi's "voice command" is a very nice feature which I wish I had in my G35.

However, as you can see, I chose the G35 for its more unique look, better "sports sedan" feel, and the RWD. I too just couldn't deal with the TL's FWD and torque steer...it feels like a very dolled-up, higher tech, much faster Accord.

Oh, yah...and the TL navi system would almost definitely only be for the TL or other Acura/Honda and would be very difficult if not impossible to retrofit into an Infiniti G35 for the reasons someone else mentioned above.

Re: TL Navi in G35

As much as I like Infiniti, the Acura NAV system is head and shoulder above the Infiniti system. Voice control, AC/Radio/CD tie in, very fast loading, easy to program, better graphics, touch screen....... I feel ripped off I paid $2k for our NAV and it seems so elementary compared to the Honda system.

Re: TL Navi in G35

I actually didn't want to go into why I choose this car over the TL as that has been hashed over many a times, I just liked the way you could control all the features by voice command and that is why I did not purchase the Navi system for 2 grand on the G.....I just thought it was not worth the money I was paying.
Now if there is anything aftermaket that would do the same thing then I would purchase that instead but I thought I should ask here first to see if the TL's would work.
