Ironic Story of the G...

Bought the car New Years' Eve 2005. Flash forward until a few weeks ago when I had an oil consumption test conducted @ Infiniti. 1500 miles into test, 1/2qt(12mm) low. Had to provide maintenance records of oil changes from the 20k miles to until approx 51k. I provided my records and asked Infiniti to provide records of the first 20k miles. Not 1 record of any service at Infiniti. A week passed and I was informed to drop the car off to receive a new long block. Hell since the car had 51k on the clock & it is a 6 speed, I opted to have the clutch replaced. Bought an exedy clutch & ACT streetlite flywheel from THMotorsports and had the dealer install it while it was apart. Received a call today, car is ready on the anniversary of the date I bought it 4 yrs ago. For now I will baby it, break in the clutch and put some miles on the motor before adding any mods back to it. Hopefully the issue is resolved.

Happy New Year!

Why did you have the consumption test done to begin with? Had you noticed low oil levels and did the dealer require anything to do the test?

Yes, I had noticed consumption over the past oil changes which started getting worse. The dealer required I pay for an oil change since the basic warranty was up, but they discounted the price.

When I bought mine and did a couple of oil changes it didn't burn any at all. Then 2 months ago I found no oil and the car went through 6 quarts in 2700 miles. The valve train actually made noise which was the only reason I caught it in time. I know for sure without even checking it lost compression and the motor is most likely out of balance. It feels like it lost a lot of power.

But I've been suspicious my gfs neighbors drained the oil in the driveway since I don't have the lower engine cover on and they all ride riced Hondas and I been finding some snapped tree branches on my gfs lawn that she had just planted.
I left the car in the driveway overnight a couple of times after that and watched it overnight but nothing happened.
