05-06 hood differences

Whats so diffrent between the 03-04 and the 05-06 hoods. Yea i know they redesigned a lot. Headlight seem to be diffrent in terms of wiring. 03-04 bumpers dont work on 05-06

Will the hood just not fit ? I'm looking because slight thoughts of running stillen SC has crossed my minds. And well we all know Stillen SC = hood. I was looking around finding a hood to get cut up and all i found was 03-04 styled. THe ones i found for 05-06 were about $400 oem like or 600 for VIS CF.

seems dumb for inifiniti to go thru all that for small differences. bumpers, lights, hoods and fenders should be able to work for all gen 1, but nope it doesn't work like that.

It doesn't fit, it will not line up with the fenders.

Just cut up the stock hood and mold a hoodscoop on top to clear the SC

the thought ran thru my head when a friend of mines got his Z smashed up. He has a stillen stage 2 on their and asked me to pull it for him before the insurance guys come for the car. He is giving me one hell of a deal on it. All i really need in a SS box, hood , a new belt and small bolts. I never really cared to much for the stillen as like people said $/ hp doesn't add up. most people gain 40-60whp but at this price its great $/hp, plus install is simple.

a little worried about my AWD tranny

I prefer the low end torque of a roots blower vs a centrifgal. It really makes the car fun to drive, esp with a manual trans with all the off-idle power you gain.

^^^ +1... but most ppl are swayed by peak hp.

OP - you should look into the FG hood being sold by Strafe - that would be way easier and probably cheaper to cut up that OEM... and much lighter (trust me ) - btw, I'm not talking about the vented one, they have OEM style FG hoods.

^ i'm sure they have one in the works. but again i think the 05-06 will not get much again. i haven't seen a thread by them about the hoods, i know they have them going on for the 03-04 but i didn't seen that nismo bumper being out yet,i figure they more focused on that.

we will see, if his SC doesn't sell, i'll take it for next to nothing =)

I am sure you can get a complete 2005/2006 front end and swap out the bumper, headlights, grill, hood, fenders - everything 'should' bolt right up.

no, I'm not talking about one they are making... they picked up inventory from VIS... this is the one I'm talking about: https://g35driver.com/forums/exterio...6-cf-hood.html

In hindsight, I probably should have got something like this instead of having my OEM modified... just a suggestion
