Maybe so, but at the auto-x, the only damage you're going to do to the car is a cone scrub mark on the bumper as you slide across an open lot. Racing through canyons can be deadly, you rarely do you have a place to safely bail, you put the public in danger, and you don't know what's around the next turn.

he's Armenian... I'm quite confident in saying he doesn't understand any of your "safety" references...

Racing is in the blood...

saf⋅ty
–noun, plural -ties.

1) the state of being aggressive in tight corners and/or sweeping turns; freedom from the occurrence or risk of injury, danger, or loss.

Most often found in the blood of Armenians. Frequently observed in practice by G35 owners.

Driver mod #1

If you under-steering then that is because you going too hot into the turn
If you over-steering then lay off the gas some unless you know how to counter-steer and control the car with the throttle

Adjust sways med rear and soft front would be nice if you have already done other suspension mods.

You can find used R-compound/slick tires cheap from race teams that use it for only one session instead of abusing the tires you use daily.

front?

wouldn't this typically induce understeer? Why wouldn't you want a stiffer front?

brake/throttle to control turns is not the answer...

This car has inherent under-steer (as do most)... particularly sedan... let's face it; it is a commuter car.

The G35 was never designed to be a track performer... Purest will state certain driving characteristics when relating to the 350Zs handling, but that car was designed to be suitable for track....

The business-man's sport-coupe/sedan needs help on the track (more than driver awareness)...

This is not to say that worKing on one's own ability is not important... but let's face facts - the G35 has lots to gain from upgrades.

When I mentioned canyons, that does not mean racing. No one can "race" in canyons because of u start racing you will die sooner or later. Racing is starting from one point and getting to the other point as fast as possible. In canyons that is not possible. I have done that once @ 3AM with some local asian G/s2k (no armos) owners at a Indian reservation land located between LA and San Diego (AKA in the middle of nowhere).

The weekly canyon trips started with using 70% of my stock G35's capability and withing few months I learned a trick or two about the car with out racing or doing anything erratic. As soon as you go 100% of the car's capability there is a good chance that you will crash. I have exceeded that limit but only after owning my car 2.5-3 years and tweaking the suspension to my driving habits. I am sure without 20-40 mph drifts in the rain in a huge empty parking lots every time it rained and almost weekly canyon drives, i wouldn't be half as good of G35 driver as I am now and put pressure on 997s and vettes on my first ever track event after 10 laps with 300hp sedan.

Wrong. I was never a confident driver till recently. The only car that i still can drive fast is 350z or G35. My 335 has the capability to be as fast as mildly modded G35 (suspension).... But give me the G and I will drive that car much much faster than i can with my 335. Why? Because i've never driven this car fast....

Better watch out... someone might take that as a "street racing story"
The ban hammer has been swinging a little too freely here lately
