coupe seat guys, swap out only backrest
I got a local guy who is offering to sell me his coupe seats. He has a 06 non prem model. He showed me some pictures and its about a 4-6 pin connection mainly for the power seats.
I have a 05 prem model. This has all the fancy crap, memory seats, moves steering wheel, exit and entry recline and well my connection has like a 16-19 wire setup.
I've search a couple thread here and found non prem guys installing prem seats. Its a lot easier if you start off with 4-6 wires and just pin the right power wires on the 16-19 connections. That makes perfect sense. You dont get the memory obviously.
But in my case its completely diffrent. I could just tap the 4-6 wires from the coupe seat into my car but i think other stuff will act up. CAN systems going crazy and all that stuff. So what i was thinking was maybe i can just swap backrest. Since 90% of the reason to get coupe seats are for the back rest bosters. I figure i can just tap the 2 wires ( i'm assuming) that power the back rest to each other and be done. For you guys who reupholster your seats or swap seats this is mainly for you. Do you guys think this can work...
is there any upgrades to the seat bottoms from coupe to sedan?
the airbag and heated seat connections should be plug and play. The pass should be plug and play.
