Wiper rant?
I'm not happy with my $40 Rainx wipers. They are bulky and catch the wind during high speeds. The rubber is always coming off the metal foundation as well. Honestly, the cheapest or OEM blades, and a good windshield cleaning would be the best.

I have had this set of Bosch Icons for a year and they will be replaced this month. No complaints at all, they work great. And they look cool too.
+1, I had the Rain X latitudes and there was always a spot that didn't wipe and they seemed to lift at speed. I then bought some Bosch and they also hada spot they did not wipe. Both in the middle of the driver's side of the windshield. I then bought some cheap azz ones (about $5 each) from Kragen and no more problems with the missed spot. I will stick with cheap wipers, especially since they dry out so quick in SoCal.

Sucks because they were AWESOME on my last car. Lasted 2 years!
Is there a way to increase the tension of the spring that holds the wiper against the windshield?
The only ones that lift a little on my car are the rainx winter wipers - but they were awesome this winter.. never once had a problem with them wiping well. Now I have to find new wipers for the warmer seasons..
I've used the BOSCH Icon blades since Summer of 2006. Still no streaks/stuttering. I also lived in AZ for about 6 months during that time and that heat could dry out your blades.
There's a TSB on the wiper chattering longggggggggggg time ago. I've had this problem from day 1. I gave up on it. The only wiper that I was able to tolerate is my current PIAA super silicone. These wipers helped a great deal in the chattering problem. The wiper leaves silicone coating while it wipes. It still chatters a bit but it's light years ahead of all the other wipers I've tried. I must have these PIAA for 2 or 3 yrs by now and they are still going strong. You get what you paid for.
I had the wiper chatter/skipping back in '06. Had to replace the wiper motor to fix. It was more than just old wipers problem for me. Have not had a problem since (knock on wood), no matter which blades I use.
Did the same but was brushed off by the dealer and said "Can't duplicate the problem". What a freaking joke.
