This month's Road & Track has a full article on the new 2004 Nissan Maxima SE.
To sum up the article, they declare that the Maxima has lost it's title of 4DSS (4-door sports sedan) to the G35.

First: I find that impossible to believe, unless the G35 driver wasn't even trying to race you. Most drivers of high-powered cars don't even bother racing vehicles that are proven to be inferior in terms of horse power or hadling. Why risk an accident, ticket or wear-and-tear on your vehicle when in your mind you know you can blow the doors of of some wanna-be racer in a tricked out Civic, 3 series, etc. There's a great sense of satisfaction when some other *** makes a fool of himself by challenging you at a light, and you go ahead and let him blow off the line knowing that if you wanted to, you could whip is car and sending him crying back to his buddies vowing to spend tons more to make his car better than yours.
Second: The Nissan Maxima for several generations has been refered to as the "4DSS". If I'm not mistaken, the BMW was always been refered to as "The Ultimate Driving Machine".

First you beat a G in an IS. Now you say you beat a G with a 325. Next you will be saying you beat a G35 with your moped ... Give us a break.

I find that hard to believe. A 330 could give us a run for our money. A 325 5-speed might be able to keep up with a G35 AT.

A 330i 5-speed would give the G35 AT a run for it's money, but auto to auto=G35. I'm not even going into the 6MT. I have driven a 5-speed IS and I was not impressed by the acceleration - it is definitely slower than the auto G35 and slower than the I35. It is more of a competition for the non-type-s Acuras.

Fenway > Why are you on a G35 forum then? If you don't like our cars that much and laugh at us, it usually means you won't be buying a G35. I suggest you leave this foum before you get kicked out.
