The Mod Bug

Well, I purchased my '04 sedan in February 2009 and up until now avoided modding for the sake of being stock.

Well, I made the mistake (or gift) of getting a pair of Altima Fat Boy tips last week and the mod bug hit me....hard. Today, I purchased an '06 coupe midpipe and have my eyes on suspension/wheels upgrade in the next month or so.

So, what mod got you started with the obsession?

OP, look for a HR y-pipe

Swaybars and MD 5/16" plenum spacer popped my cherry.

Thanks Sean (SxExCx) for convincing me to go hard/hard on the sways from the get-go!

See this is my 6th vehicle, in 6 years with a license (I'm 23 years old now). It is also my 6th modded vehicle. I was hoping as I move my way up in quality of vehicle, I will have less desire to modify it. This car was supposed to be my settle-down vehicle, but I suppose not!

As far as the HR y-pipe, I have to see how the coupe midpipe sounds by itself first. I'm very picky because my last car was a Mustang GT with long-tube headers, catted x-pipe, and SLP exhaust. Dyno video here:

And another video:

The sound was deafening, could not hear a thing. The audio on my video camera could barely even pick up the sound. Point is, I want ZERO drone, but a little bit deeper tone. Even the HKS muffler is too much for me now. Need to preserve my hearing better this time around.

Yeah we are up the same creek dude. I kept it cool for the longest time but I think more than anything this god forsaken website has ruined me for good.

If you're a 03-04 guy look at G35 papa, wtf right? I hate him, and that jerk face candlestickpark too. TTRank is in another dimension, that's just crazy to follow him.

I'm waiting on a hondata intake manifold gasket, then the 5/16 spacer, modified older lower plenum, and HR y-pipe go on. I think this trifecta will be the nail in the coffin. The funny part is, we all have that mod denial "after X, I'll be happy and done"

Just keep it clean out there bro, we walk a very fine line between tasteful and tacky/trashy/ricey.

Trust me, coming from a long line of different cars, I know all about what's tasteful and what's tacky. Keep in mind, I just bought the coupe midpipe from YOU

Talk about mod bug. Had it since I started with the clear corner.
Then tints, LEDs, stillen intake, stillen catback exhaust gen2, audio system(pioneer f90bt, rear camera, 10" jl sub, 500w amp, 4080box), rear euro style spoiler. Did this within 2 years while going to school and with a part time job. Grinding it out day by day.

Now I finished college and got a well paying job. This only means one thing! More mods! LoL.
I've got more toys at home ready to be installed.
19" axis pentas, oem front lip, bc coilovers(waiting for delivery)

Future mod to come within months
paint roof black, paint headlights, paint side mirrors, try to get the oem rear nismo spoiler.

Funny you mentioned Chris (G35Papa) as a IP sedan owner, the mod but bit me as soon as I saw his car!

I was talking to him the other day and he made the same remark about 'just want to get so-and-so and then I'm mostly done....'
Whatever There is no "Done"... "Done" it's a myth.
