2007 G35 Sedan seat -> into -> 2006 G35 Sedan
Hi,
Has anyone successfully installed a 2007 G35 Sedan seat into a 2005 or 2006 (or earlier) G35 Sedan?
FIT:
I am curious about the fit and ride height of the 2007 G35 sedan. Can the buttons be accessed easily? The ride height of the G35 sedan is a bit high for my taste but I have read other threads that explain how to adjust the drive screw. Seat memory is very important to me because the vehicle will be shared regularly. I do not own a G35 sedan 6MT yet, but I might want to change the seat out for comfort. I drove a G35 sedan (auto) for a month a few years back and the seat control buttons really got on my nerves (otherwise a very comfortable seat for me). My searching seemed to indicate scrawnier folks seemed to have good comfort and huskier folks had less comfort. I am a decent bit skinnier than I was a few years back so I may be able to provide good data. I thought I had seen people who had modified or relocated the adjustment button mechanism but could not find it in my recent searching. I might not be good at searching though. A lot of times I search for something for an hour and the best I can find is one post that ends with "ever heard of the search button" or some kind of cute picture that relays the same message.
SAFETY:
Does anyone know how the airbag system in the G35 works? Is there a accelerometer or a strain gauge? Is the Go/NoGo signal originating at the sensors in body panel sensor, or is a line voltage read at the computer and decoded within the computer itself? Does the computer send a positive voltage through the wire to the seat to fire the bag? If yes, could the the seat airbag fire if 12V (or 5?) is applied to the wring terminal in the seat harness; or is their a combination of wires that much be energized for teh airbag to fire?
SEAT MEMORY:
Is the seat memory function controlled and stored (data) within the seat itself? If so, wouldn't a 2007 sedan seat with seat memory retain the seat memory if switched to any car?
I am comfortable popping pins out of the Molex connectors and reading wiring diagrams.
Thanks,

seat button remedy
The seat buttons on my 06' sedan was driving me crazy. It dug into my upper outside thigh so much so that it was painful to drive.
I took it to a trim shop and had them move the seat button module to the front of the seat and attached it to the hard plastic part. They extended the seat cushion out to where the module was and covered it with a new piece of leather. They did an excellent job and it looks like it came from the factory that way.
The module is not quite as convenient as before but not hard to reach. You just can't see it anymore. I never use the buttons anyway because I have the "easy out" feature so I just set it and forget it. Now I'm happy as a clam with my G35 driving experience.

seat mod
The original quote was $285 but when I went to pick up the car the bill was $235. I just smiled and wrote the check and thanked him very much. I think he forgot what the original quote was. Although it doesn't seem like it in these photos, the leather was a good match. It's just that the new piece looks cleaner than the old parts. The module underneath can't be seen unless you lean down and look for it and it is fairly easy to use but like I said; with the "easy out" I set it and forget it and rarely have to adjust the seat. The seat is now very comfortable for my wide ***.
