So I have a very early G35. Build date is 02/02. I also have a fairly low serial number, 004979.
This got me to thinking, I wonder if the serial number (aka, the last 6 digits of the VIN) is a true serial, IOW, if my car is the 4,979th G built.
So to test this theory, post up your build dates and serial numbers, and I'll make a list to see if the serial numbers go up month by month. (or maybe even year by year)

I need to double check on the build date later.
Yeah, back of the front door jamb, or bottom of the B pillar. Whichever way you want to look at it.

It could still provide some very interesting information. Like roughly how many were built each month, who has the oldest G, what serial number marked the "half years" etc...
Your car is probably the 4,979th G produced during that year. Or whatever time period there production is operating through. Might also have to do with what options were available on the car and in what order they were produced.
