Car jerks when shifting from Park to Reverse.

i have noticed that when shifting from park to reverse my car will jerk pretty hard. i make sure to let my car warm up before shifting to reverse. sometimes i will even get the jerk after driving. is this normal? if not any advice?

Yeah it happened on my gs300. It happened whenever i changed gear to opposite direction i.e D to R, or R to D.
Noticed that before i bought it and sold it almost two years later with no problems.

This happened to my old car and it was a broken transmission mount. I just fill the mount with 3m window weld and it stop jerking when I shift gears.

How old is your car? If you have not checked the transmission fluid, take a look at it and see if smells "burnt". It should look pretty much like it does out of the bottle. Otherwise, I would get it flushed and filled. Don't know if this is an issue or not, but it all depends on the age of your car, what kind of load and driving conditions it has seen and if you have maintained it properly. Hope this helps.
