Appreciation Thread

I am currently driving a Maxda 6 (due to my car being in my shop) and its pretty gutless compared to our G's, so much body roll, car looks like a suv cause it sits so high. I have no idea why they put a tiptronic shift as up is down and down is up, ghetto

Just makes me miss my car so much more..

How many of you feel this way??

when i was installing my springs i was at a friends place and my dad told me i need to pick him up, and as my car was up in the air i asked my friend to use his honda accord v6 to pick up my dad and its a terrible car, im so used to the g having loads of gripp that every time i set off in the accord i spun the front wheels, and it felt like a boat, on the on ramp which is pretty tight i usualy get on in the g at 50-60 mph i was doing 40 in the accord and i could barley hold it, felt like it was about to just go and flip over

Depends on what I drive. I've been behind the wheel of some pretty nice cars. I still love mine when I get back in it.

most of the time i'm driving an equal car to a G or one step down or up. I've been loving the E39 530's and the mk5 GTI, I will never own a 530 but maybe a GTi. Both have a great feel to it but i would not say they are better or worst then a G35, just a DIFFERENT feel.

obviously if your driving a 4 banger mazda 6, your not going to like it much.

I had a 09 Camry rental while the G was in the shop...
That thing was TERRIBLE

I really had to buckle down on the rental place to keep them from putting me in a Korean POS... but the Camry wasn't much better.

After I returned it, I went straight to the Nissan place across the street and asked to test drive a 09 base model Altima 2.5 with 50k mi (Camry only had 30)

The Altima was easily TWICE the car... bested it in every possible way.

The only way a car magazine can rate the Toyota higher is if they're on Toyota's payroll.

Im in love with my car, I drive a 2003 Denali and 2006 Maxima once in a while and neither comes close to the G. The maxima has a much better ride than my G though and the Denali is good to use for work. My G is the car to have fun in, obviously it's modded so this adds to it haha

Oh, almost forgot! I drove the Camry from FL to LA for a wedding. One of the guys in the car club drove with me, and we decided to write a review.

I'm not done with my review yet, but his is pretty funny:

I love my g35 so much, but I can say the 330i 6spd i drove was nicer. Felt more connected to the road and the I6 seemed like a stronger engine, although I know my g35 is faster.
I can really appreciate how nice the exterior looks, seriously still looks like one of the nicest cars on the road, Especially when its nice and clean.

i'm driving a brand new (12kms) rental chrysler 300 right now. soft suspension, anemic 3.5L engine, forgettable exhaust note, and of course terrible slushbox tranny. a few years ago 250hp seemed like a ton of power for a sedan. i'm not sure what the curb weight of the 300 is, but after driving my 6MT sedan it seems like a pig.

as usual i look forward to hopping back into the G tomorrow. i'm still torn on when/what to upgrade to...my G is trouble free and has been payment free for the past 4 years!

Was it a new Taurus? I wouldn't mind testing out one of those SHO's.

Also, good review of the Camry up there. My Dad owns one and he loves it. I haven't driven it, but it just seems like a soulless, unimaginative car for the masses.

Last fall my parents were in the market for one of these, boring, 4 banging, family mobiles to replace our 08 G with (dont ask).

And during the test drives i took (camry v6 and camry le) plus nissan (altima v6, and altima 2.5) i could easily tll a difference. V6 Camry wasn't too bad, but the LE was just god awful. That car was the most boring thing i have ever driven.

Altima is a good car. Way smoother than my G, but every time i get back into the G, i missed its amazing sound system (upgraded), and power that can take it to 100mph without even a flinch (Altima slows down at 80-85 like the g does at 120+...)

I missed that.

Every time I go from my other car to the G I remember how slow and soft the G is.

But I also remember how much more comfortable and luxurious it is

yep one of the new eco V6 things that have so little but are "so fast" hmmm yeah i guess we were driving something else then cause there is no power there lol.

was comfy inside but when cornering the body rolls pretty hard so its for sure uncomfortable when driving around a corner to quick lol
