Vehicle recall notice from the dealer (mail)

Anyone else get one of these? It's a basic postcard thing from one of my local dealers. Card doesn't specify what recall they are referring to. Just says my car MIGHT be under at least one factory recall.

Off hand, I'd probably call the dealer. But it "smells" like a scheme to get me into their dealership so they can take a look and find something to fix that's not under the recall.

they probably just mailed as they dont know if you have had all the recalls done. ex. fuel hose, cam/crank sensors if its an 03

jeff, your g isnt part of the upcoming recall for the pass air bag. only 05-06 sedans and 05-07 coupes

You can just call up and give the vin and try will tell you what needs to be done. No need to even go in

It's a scam. I've gotten those before on my Infiniti and Subaru. You're right, it's a ploy to get you in. A real recall notice will identify your VIN, the problem, and the remedy.

if its a recall it would be a detailed letter not a vague post card

You might still have the parts that cause the issue. Since Nissan has still not released details on how to fix it.

And I just got a letter from the local dealer saying they want to buy my vehicle back for top dollar because they need it for high resale demand.

RIGHT. When I was shopping for it, they didn't have any 6MTs on the lot because there was no demand.... All they really want to do is sell me a new one.

you should send them a letter asking what they consider "top dollar"...

Yeah I get that crap all the time. With Lexus, they go as far to call me and ask me if I want to turn in the lease early.

Part of me doesn't want to go to the dealer for this air bag recall cuz I don't want to go through the " oh you never had this service done?" routine. But then again...it means I get a '10 g37x for the day
