If it's still under a warranty, definitely get it replaced by the dealer for free. TSB Baby!

my dealer Infiniti of Mobile refused to replace it saying it was because my car had been in a wreck, which it hasn't. I love my car, but I will buy another brand before dealing with those people further.

Are you sure there is a TSB? I haven't seen one. The dealership actually didn't want to cover it at first, but backed down once I threatened to cancel my extended warranty.

Thats what the guy from the infinity said as soon as I showed him the hood.
I had the driver side of the hood raised. And when I try openning it, the hood would rub against the body.

When I brought it to the body shop, the guy told me that the hinges are actually weak for our heavy hood. The one he will be installing is actually stronger. (not word per word conversation but that's all I can remember).

Interesting. At first they acted like they had never heard of the problem. Later they admitted that they have fixed the issue on many Coupes, but I was the first Sedan.

As far as your rag remedy, what about if/when you have your car serviced by others (assuming you do)? They could mess up your hood/paint.
I actually took the advice from this thread and went out there with liquid wrench.. and in conclusion my hood hinge is fixed! just kept sprayin and pullin the hood up while it was closed and then opened it and worked it up and down.. nice!!!

Be sure to use some white lithium grease to keep it moving, as liquid wrench won't last very long, lubricants are not grease.
