I've been pondering the idea of upgrading to the nismo kit on my 04 DG sedan for a while now. Got a rear lip, and have a few options for the front bumper, but the side skirts have me baffled. I already have my stock side skirts painted, and from what I see in pictures, the nismo sides seem like such a small change that it's not even worth the 300-500$ to get them and have them painted. Just wanted to get other peoples opinions on the matter.

 

after you put the front and back on, you will see the difference and regret not getting it.

Also, how did you get the rear lip before everything else? Thats the hardest part to find out of the 3...

 

Look at my pics, I dont have the sides and I dont think it looks out of place. I wish I had them sometimes but get the front first and then decide.

What front bumper are you considering? If you go with the KuRookie you'll definitely want the NisRookie sides (Nismo sides modified to line up with the KuRookie front). They made a big difference on my 05-06 Sedan and our sides come painted from the factory.

 

Marcus, aren't the 03/04 sides a little more 'chunky' than the 05/06 ones, or are they the same?

OP. I have the Hikkatadori Nismo replica, and I really don't see much point in sides... maybe if I was dragging the ground it would be more noticable.

 

To me nismo doesnt make a huge difference. Nisrookie and the others do though.

 

There is a guy on the forum, 19kdrill, that is selling them for a great price. He had a few sets you may want to PM him to see if he has any left in your color. I got mine from him. The good thing about the Nismo is the OEM fit and finish and if they are available in your color no painting needed

Yeah Ashley the 03/04 sides are chunkier than the 05-06 sides.

Here is a comparison of the OEM 03-04 sides versus the Nismo sides. The OEM sides don't really have any contours. You can see that the lines of the Nismo sides "flow" with the front and the rear.

The Nismo sides are discontinued anyway so I would just paint your OEM sides and get a Hikatta Dori front (given that the Nismo front is also discontinued).

 

I am so torn... but my gut is telling me to do it right and get them. Does anyone else have pictures of the nismo kit without the sides? Naughty240's car looks good, but the pictures are dark and it's tough to really see.

 

dude, can you "get by" without them? yes, but do you really just wanna "get by?" the whole point of getting the front is to what? make it look better, right? it'll look better w/sides, PERIOD. stop being cheap and just do it right.

 

I just installed the sides on my car and it looks great. I got them from 19kdrill, he didn't have them in my color but he knows an excellent paint shop. I got the nismo spoiler and sides from him, both painted to match my brilliant silver, all for $675 which was reasonable.

Only thing I can complain about is the fact that I don't have the front and back. Having the sides makes the lack of the front and back stick out to me. All my non-G driving friends say it looks a hell of a lot better tho.
