THIS SUCKS!!
Re: THIS SUCKS!!
Hey guys i appreciate your help, info and opinions!! Ok this is the deal, on the original documents or paperwork the dealer had my car MSRP was like 38,900 or something like that, since my best friends father hooked me up witht he full sports package w/e int he car and highest model, it was that high especially since it was an 03.5 modela nd nobody had this car, thats what he said a year ago which was pretty true. He came down to 36k for me thats roughly 3k off MSRP for a brand new car, i put a $4k downpayment on the car and am paying 430 a month not including taxes and w/e, and i do not know the other taxes involved, sry! Ok well i want a manual and a coupe so badly its not even funny, im paying every month for a car i absolutely LOVE, but not exactly what i want to own! I drove my friends coupe 6 spd and fell in love with it, and i realized the M3 was way out of reach for me. So im thinking wait out the 2 years and get the M3 which i will have money saved up for or try and sell this off the market and get some good money for the car and get a coupe which i want also. My big thing is a coupe and 6spd or manual.
kysrsoze i didnt even factor in all of the $ or mods i dropped into the car, thats not even one of my concerns, just the fact that it dropped that much in price. Anyway i realized my main focus is school for right now and other things, but this still is bugging the hell out of me. Im very fortunate to own this car but it clearly isnt what i want and since im paying for it i think i should have what im happy with, if not now in 2 years w/e! I just thought i could get out of this and into a new coupe for like 4k in total being 2k upside down or so and like 3k down payment or another 4, so actually like 5-6 k in the end.
Then the manager came over to work numbers, he was like ok lets try and work something out, he was like if we buy your car out could you go a little higehr on payments? I wa slike yea a little i guess, he was like ok 60 months 9k down for 480 a month i was liek WTF?!?!? This guy just pretty much made a deal for 36 months, 6k down for 400 flat a month he was like ummm, i was getting so pissed because they were just playing games. Anyway we'll see, im going to talk to my friends father and see what he says! Thanks again guys... Martin

Re: THIS SUCKS!!
The other thing you could try is transferring the rest of your lease to another person looking for a slightly used (but in perfect condition) G35 totally modded up for only $430/mo. on www.SwapALease.com. You just need to find out from Infiniti Financial Services or whichever leasing company you have if your lease is transferrable and what the terms are.
I think the fee for SwapALease.com is minimal and your car will probably go quickly for that price (it's hard to find a $38k vehicle for such a low lease payment, and I bet you'd have people e-mailing you and calling you left and right for it! This way...you can just get out of your lease now and get what you really want now....just another idea that might be worth checking out. Before I got my G35 as my new company car, I almost got a car myself from SwapALease.com...it's a great source! Good luck! ;-)

Re: THIS FCUKIN SUCKS!!
Some cars depreciate more than others and the sedan is very very bad. I went to kelly blue book my car is worth 21,720... click click back change it to coupe everything the same and it comes out 25,295.
I really want out of my sedan bad... I guess I'll just have to bite the bullet my car is paid off but I am driving something and paying for insurance on a car I don't really like anymore. Man I want an S2000 that car is so beautiful!

First off I would like to say NICE CAR!
What are the terms of your lease? Knowing this will help figure out what your bottom line is. If your payments are $430 right now and it's for a 36 month lease.....430 X (36-13) equals 9890 and if your residual is lets say $20000, that's a total of 29890. This is what you would have to pay if the lease company would let you get out of lease by buying it out. This is just my example hope you follow. Now take into consideration a dealership never pays taxes, that 29890 is more like 27000. This is what the dealership would have to pay for your car. So if they are offering you $21000 for your car and asking you to put down $9000, they're roughly making $3000 off your trade. This is not showing how much they make on the Coupe.
I started a semi-dealership about 6 months ago, I had someone come to me about 3 months ago with a similiar situation.
I'm not trying to sell any cars here just wanted to give you my opinion. I would keep your car, I have a G35x Auto and I like it. I've had my sports cars in my life including: Supra, Z06, VR-4, M3, M5... The G35 isn't the fastest nor the most fancy car but you did buy it for a reason. I would suggest keeping it atleast until your lease is over. Running 14.1s in an auto G35 is very impressive. I bet you are able to beat most Coupes. Also remember the depreciation that everybody is talking here does not effect you if you keep the car the duration of the lease. You would just opt not to buy the car at the end and turn it in, no string attached. This is saying the residual is higher then the market value. I personally would never do a lease but in cases like this it might be better. You can never predict the depreciation of a new model vehicle.
If you do a trade please let me know if are parting out your car...

Here Here, Britishbloke, you are correct, again.
And might I suggest, Martin, that if you DO decide to sell private party, you park across the street from that first dealer who lowballed you with your "For Sale" sign (LOL). Your car is so nice that you'll sell it quick, for a fair price, and to someone who appreciates all of the mods, AND the fact that it's still under warranty.
A "turn key" killer car is hard to find, especially with a warranty. Good luck, ILL !!

Re: THIS SUCKS!!
illG35,
No problem. I think you're making the right decision. I had a '97 M3, great car. My only disappointment was when I went to the 1/4 track and only ran 14.6. It felt so much faster and the mags show 14.0 all day long. The new M3 are suppose to be a lot better and more refine, but don't get the 2001 because I've heard of engine failures and blow ups. I'm going to be in the market for a second vehicle next summer and the new M3 is on my list along with the Dodge Viper GTS. The value of the Viper has been falling and you can pick up a 2001 GTS with low miles for around $45000. See you around the forum.

Re: THIS SUCKS!!
AWD,
I got to agree. At least for me, if I was going to spend the big money on a car in the M3 range I would just get a Viper.
The Viper may be out of reach for most, but it is a hell of a lot sexier than an M3 and it will kill almost anything but a supercar.

Re: THIS SUCKS!!
You guys are nuts, why buy one car for 60k-70k when you can buy two great cars for the same price. I luv my G35 Sedan 6mt but I felt i needed some sun fun on the weekends, so I was thinking of trading in my sedan for a roadster, but then I thought thats extreamly impracticle because of the small trunk and only 2 seats. Since my sedan was paid for I just went and bought a 350z roadster and kept the sedan. now I got two awesome cars to have fun with and the 350z only cost me $400 extra a year in insurance. For the guy who wants the S2000, just keep your sedan and buy the S2000 also. Othrewise you will miss your sedan when its gone. Roadsters are more of a weekend car. There not to great for everyday use.

Nah I have my minivan... when we are in the G35 it's either myself or my wife and myself. There hasn't been more than 2 people in that car or any packages in the trunk since I bought the minivan in May. I can get straigh performance tires becasue the car will never see the snow... in fact it won't see the rain I've only washed my car once since May because I never drive it when it's raining. It just gets dusty and I swipe it with my california duster
