Replacing Key FOB

My FOB stopped working in my 05 G35 sedan and I took it to the stealership to get the battery replaced. The service rep said that he tried replacing the battery and that the FOB still didn't work. He wanted to sell me a new FOB for $200 and charge me $175 to program it (told him to stick it).

My question is: if I go on eBay and purchase a new FOB with uncut key, can I plug my existing valet key into a different FOB and have it work without programming? Or am I going to have to bite the bullet on this?

You should be able to retain your existing key with a new fob.

Check out this thread. Looks like it's right up your alley
