G35X on the way out?

While shopping for a AWD grocery getter, the Subaru saleman said that Infiniti is having problems with their new AWD G35X and will soon discontinue. Is this bogus or is there someting to it?

well, shopping for an AWD grocery getter will win you zero points on here. If you can afford an AWD grocery getter go and hire an Au Pair and stop being such a ****, mate.

Re: G35X on the way out?

I sure hope it`s bogus! Just bought my X last week. I was thinking Subie Outback with 6 cylender engine until I drove the X. Deal on an 04 put the prices very close, and there is absolutely NO comparison.

Re: G35X on the way out?

I can guarantee he was feeding you a line. EVERY car manufacturer is coming out with, or all ready has, all wheel drive versions of their most popular cars - Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, Acura, etc.

Infiniti would absolutely NOT abandon this market. They have a unique offering (all wheel drive that handles like a rear wheel drive) that has been proven in the FX and has now been brought to the G35. I considered a 330xi and an A4/S4 before I bought my G35x - haven't looked back. Don't get me wrong, the BMW and the B6 Audi are unbelievable, but for the money, the G35x is in a class of its own. Now if Acura had offered an AWD TL around the time I was looking, who knows where I'd be posting right now :-)

BTW - not to sound like an a**, but IMO Subaru is not even remotely in the same league as Infiniti, Lexus, Acura, BMW, Audi or Mercedes. Not even close.

-Rich

Re: G35X on the way out?

The AWD system on G35, I believe, is the eighth generation legendary ATTESA AWD system. In a way, Subie sales is correct that it will be discontinued but not until the end of 2006 when the nineth generation ATTESA is said to be out on the V36 chasis.

I think he might've been reflecting his own car's traits on this one. He meant to say "Acura TLs are boring as hell, but have pretty interiors... except for the falling roof liner".

If there were problems with the X it would be posted all over this site. I've seen nothing about it.

Re: G35X on the way out?

Yes, BillionrBoysClub, your Acura dealer is correct - the G35, in all it's forms, "sucks". We all admire how eloquently and succinctly your Acura dealer was able to sum it up - a real educated man, that Acura dealer - and we all appreciate why you look up to and seek the opinion of someone with such high intelligence, as compared to yourself.

Now go away.

Re: G35X on the way out?

Wow, that wasn't very nice.

Also, that was a rather long response just to insult me.
Now before i go away-- I think other posters here have figured out that I'm just being silly... did u really think i asked an acura dealer's opinion about a G? Im just teasing the poster about believing what an competitor car maker's dealer says about our G's... and also i was alluding to the TL vs. G thing that sometimes pops up....!
Good grief dude , no need to be so surly!

BillionrBoysClub:

Well, I'm sorry if my response offended you, but it had the intended effect, i.e., it flushed you out as either a) funnin' us here on the site or b) a person who is goading us "G" owners with another bullsh*t comment about our cars.

Maybe I'm just being silly, too, eh? And look at the lengths I'll go to, just to insult these "goaders" - but not to the length of going to THEIR cars website and posting similar BS.

Apologize again, to a fellow "G" owner - my thin skin was showing this morning, I guess. And look at the lengths I'll go to apologize and explain - guess I'm just a thorough person. By the way, what makes you think I'm a dude ??
