I am a owner of a 2004 G35 Sedan 6MT with 18,000 miles. I love this car but I am going to have to sell it as a private party as soon as I can. My company is going to issue company cars for the sales force. We have to sell our current cars before the new cars will be issued. That's good on one account: no car payment, but very bad that I will be going back to a Ford Taurus or the new replacement Ford-500.

My question is: what is the value on a used G35? I can't find a source for pricing? I live in Morgantown, WV, about 70 miles South of Pittsburgh, PA

I just bought my '04 6MT. I remember trade-in on a perfect one was around $27,000 but I doubt you'd get that at the dealer - more like $25,000. They really hosed me on my trade-in '03 G35 auto. I only got $21,500 for it with 27K miles. Of course, I just got this one with 15K miles for only $27,500 so I'm not that upset.

Take it into Carmax and see what they'll give you. Otherwise, I'd try to sell it on cars.com or maybe eBay with a minimum you'll take on it. I'm sure the manual will go very fast and you'll get a good price for it. They're extremely rare.

I can keep the car as a second vehicle but I would get no reimbursement for my monthly payment, insurance, fuel and miles driven. With a company car they pay for everything.

 

Oh, okay, but since you won't have a payment on the "company car" why not just keep the G as a personal car, I would try that!

He's actually gonna be making money driving the company car. He would lose money every time he drove the G.

 

True, but he needs to find out the details a bit more. A lot of company cars do not allow people to travel in them without you paying yourself. You can't use it a lot for personal stuff. That is why most people with company cars still have a personal one for this sorta thing. Don't expect to take the car on a trip out of town, they won't allow it. At least most companys won't.

I need to get rid of a car payment. I also have a 2004 Ford F150 as a second vehicle. I need to keep the truck for hauling my boat and motorcycle. Thats the reason the G must go.

My company car can be used for any personal trips as long as I separate the personal miles from the business miles. They said that we can use for long travel vacations but we can't use the company gas card or send in for business miles.

I know that I am going to lose my butt trying to get out from under this G35 car payment. Oh well, it was sure fun while I had it.

 

Okay, now this makes sense, I thought you meant you couldn't have any personal vehicles for some reason, the F-150 would be the winner to keep with a boat!
