Exclamation need help w/2003 g35 sedan

I was having this problem with my 2003 g35 sedan for some reason when i push the accelerator the rpm is not going up nothing is happening.
I took it to a workshop and the guy there said it needs a Throttle body part
and the part cost $500-600 I called Infiniti dealership they said that the part is $240-260 I looked online and a refurbished part is only $90(W/One yr warranty) please let me know if it is safe to use a refurbished part.

and let me know if the repair shop who is charging me $1200 to fix the whole thing including labor/parts and reprogramming is over charging or not?

Thanks,
Tom

well considering right there u said the dealer quoted less than the shop then that answers your question... yes they are ripping you off.

Normally its the Dealerships that rip you off, not the shops... get a new shop mate, that one is trying to pull a fast 1

You can reprogram yourself, do a search on how to reset your idler. Try that before you replace anything.

this just happened to me two weeks ago. driving the car around in limp mode for 5 minutes would allow me to turn it back on in normal mode. i went with rockauto for the throttle body. it was around 100 and it wasn't refurbed. also remember to get the gasket. everything was around 105 shipped. easy DIY fix. make sure you do the idle air relearn and the the throttle body relearn procedures.

Do the relearn. If that doesn't fix it, replace the TB.

TB is very easy to replace. Do what he ^^ suggested first though.
