When I started my G I heard this sound from the engine bay The sound came as soon as I started the car and lasted for maybe a second. It sound quite similar to the sound you hear when the ABS charges (at 7mph) but is much lower. ABS charging noise you canhear most of the time with the windows rolled up but not this one. I have now heard this maybe 3 times now all in the morning when the car is started the first time. I have turned it off the engine after hearing the noise then on to see if it repeats but it does not.

Anyone has any input or similar experience?
Can I suggest that when you start your car in the morning cold, have your driver window down and try to hear for the noise. Maybe there are others who have same problem. Btw, i am not talking about the ABS sound that comes when you start rolling and is a little louder.

I get the same noise on my Coupe, and I have on all the VQ's I've owned.
I don't think it's anything to worry about.

Just to clarify I am not talking about the ABS sound, although this is a somewhat similar, kind of a grinding type low pitch sound.

Exactly just after you start the engine
The sound is sometimes louder especially in the morning when you start for the first time.
Because of the metal grinding type sound it makes me nervous.

Where is Q45tech when you need him : )
