Did you guys just paint over it?
Did you do a light sand then paint?
Did you sand and primer it?

I was looking for a diy, or to see what others did exactly, couldnt find it. I just saw some people that said they did it, and it looks soooooooooooooooooooooooooo clean

Yea I was wondering if they take it off the car or mask the whole car around it....

Yeah standard is to sand prime and paint. But I've seen people get away with super super fine wet sand and just spray over so if they ever want to go back it's easy to take off the new thin layer of paint and buff back it the original layer later.

Another option some people here go with is vinyl

http://www.metrodecals.com

I bought black (gloss) vinyl sheet from here, ordered and received it within a week. They also have flat/matte black. Haven't installed it yet but plan to cut out the shape of the trim and install it over the trim. I think it's easier than painting and should be able to be removed down the road if you wish without too much difficulty.

Before this stuff I tried trimbrite blackout tape, it turned out pretty decent but there were some areas where the tape wasn't wide enough to cover the trim with one piece so I had to join two pieces together and that's where it didn't look so good so decided to go the vinyl route. Cutting them out to the exact shape of the trim will be easier too as I won't have to worry about the curves and will just have to cut a little bit extra on each side to tuck underneath the rubber edges.

Also 10% off coupon code from that site: metro10off

^ I went with vinyl. Looks really nice. Had a local vinyl shop cover the trim for me.

The problem with painting is when you try removing the trim peices, the clips that hold them on will easily break and you have to buy a whole new trim peice to replace it.

i took mine off the car and sanded and painted it. make sure you sand and paint properly or it will flake, i have a few spots that flaked but i also used a flat black, should have used a gloss black to go with the b pillars. and be very careful when you remove the trim it can bend and wont go back together perfectly. but overall i messed up a few times but it still looks pretty good.
