Gas mileage help this is a nightmare for my wallet
Weird, I filled up and got on the road on Saturday. A 50 mile trip averaged 27.7 mpg and I set cruise control to 70mph. I have a 2006 6MT sedan with MREV2 + 5/16 spacer and a JWT pop charger.
dam.... so theres nothing wrong if i literally watch my fuel line drop almost every 10 miles...... it scares the crap outta me when i go only 35 miles to school and i have a full tank and by the time i get home im down at half a tank... im seriously thinkin about doing a tune up at 48k... most of the time i just drive my acura cuz its wayy easier on gas..
if your acura is a 4 cylinder thats 1/2 the size of the VQ35 then yea DUH.
the fuel gauge is nothing more then an idiots guide to how much fuel. I dont look because i think its tappered to stay in the middle more VS top and bottom. I dont know exactly on that. i know i can get least 300miles per tank so when i near 250-275 i would start looking for gas stations.
the guy saying 400+ is very possible he can. we have 20gal tanks in our car. if he gets 22-23 then he should run out at 440-460miles.
but use miles driven divide by gallons filled to figure out MPG

Yours sounds a little low but not unusual in this car. I've found that even if I go easy on the go-pedal I still only get in the mid 300-350 range per tank.
Working the mileage fill-up to fill-up, I vary between 17-19 city and 22-24 highway.
To be honest, I don't worry about it. It costs what it costs and I knew the car had a rep for gas consumption when I bought it.

I get 320-340 usually (19mpg roughly), although it has been 290 before. It gets worse as it gets colder out. I drive like a ***** in all weather. Have a k&n, md spacer and everything else is factory.
I think i actually get better mileage with the spacer, although maybe the car just took awhile to learn how I drive.. not sure.
You have to remember that not only are these 3.5 liter engines, but the whole drive train is designed for speed, not fuel economy

lol thanks everyone that helped in on this, so should i get a SUPER early tune up, or does it sound normal then because i STILL think that getting upper 200 while doing mostly all highway is kinda of

heard it makes the car even heavier and my trip is 36 miles "to and back" i also drive my acura get almost the same "96 3.5rl"However if you at half a tank then thats only about 70 miles......that sounds bad to me! if ur getting 150 a whole tank.......
You guys are just proving the point I made earlier. Miles per tank is near-meaningless.
The G has a 20Gal tank, but the fuel light normally comes on FOUR FULL GALLONS BEFORE that!!! Plus, as someone else mentioned, the needle isn't a linear measurement anyway.
Fuel economy is measured in MPG.
Calculate that, and you'll know if you really have anything to gripe about or not.

^Yes. Which is exactly why "miles-per-tank" is a stupid way of measuring economy. Even if you and I were getting exactly the same MPG, what we reported as "miles-per-tank" would be over 50mi different.

What good is a gas gauge and low gas warning light if it tells you that you're empty when you supposedly have 3 gallons left?
If the low gas light goes off and I have 3 gallons left then I should be able to get about 400 miles on a tank easy.
