When fail becomes win!!
its pretty strong. can't say its as strong as stock but its close. with an aluminum shroud you won't need to worry about it anyways. aluminum won't flex and cause the same issues.
Thank god it didn't bust the pan! Don't want to end up like this guy.

Thanks for the ideas Toll. The tray I bought came with the extruded U nuts so I'm sure I can make the new one fit.
Jairen I can't even imagine. Sucks to lose a 2 month old piece but I really think it saved me from further and more serious damage.

Wow!
Glad to see it did what it was supposed to do and protected the oil pan and such.
This is exactly the reason why I make the front piece of my shrouds out of a thinner aluminum than the rear part.
The front piece needs to be able to come off and not rip the core support out from under the car. Other (copied) shields out have a much to thick front piece and I can only imagine what would have happened had it not tore free and took the core support with it.
Wish you would have let me know what happened when you reordered.

Thanks Spd. I was very happy to have the tray act like it did. I'm certain it saved the engine from some sort of damage and that's a good thing.
It did rip out the holes that the tray mounted to under the front bumper, but I used the clips that came with the hardware kit and made it work. Sucker's on there tight as the original.
