2005 G35X oil consumption

In all my reading on various forums about the oil consumption issue, I have not read about any G35X owners experiencing this problem...anyone with an X had their engine replaced?

Shouldn't be a problem with the regular DE motors. It is very rare for them to burn as much oil as the rev ups.

Yea thats what I thought....I was a little worried for awhile. Kinda glad I opted for the X and not the coupe lol Now I just have to get this annoying steering wheel vibration sorted out ...

the 05-06 6MT sedans, 05-07 6MT coupes, and certain 6MT 350Zs, typically have the oil consumption problem. Ours may burn alittle bit but not as severe as the rev-up engines.

Steering wheel vibration could be from an unbalanced wheel. Get your alignment checked out too. Also if it only vibrates when you apply brakes, your brake rotors are probably warped.

Mine burns 1.0 - 1.25 quarts per 3500 miles.....

Not enough to be replaced by the tsb. It's consistent, so I usually add 1/2 a quart around 1750 miles

My 04.5 X with 105k km does burn a drop between oil changes. I use GC 0W-30 and drive very very very hard.

My 05 G35x burns about 1 qt / 3500 miles under my normal driving conditions. The higher I rev it the more it burns. I have about 50K on the clock, and the consumption rate has always been the same.

^The easiest way is to measure how much oil it takes to get the oil dipstick back to maximum. Assuming that it was at maximum last time you checked or changed your oil.

I check when I change my oil. I usually get the 5 quart oil change jugs. So when I finish, I pour the oil from the pan back into the jug. 5 quarts goes in, and the jug usually holds 3.75-4 quarts when I am done.

That's why I started adding 1/2 a quart around 1500 miles
