That seems like a lot to me, but it has been 3-4 years since I got a ticket. Is that normal? I think he gave me the ticket for 60 in 25.

137 in a 65 on my old motorcycle with no motorcycle license = cop giving me a long lecture and writing the ticket for only going 80. It was my lucky day. [cop actually ran me down at 137].

Cop was coming towards me directly behind a semi, couldn't get an accurate reading. Only really saw me when we passed each other. Told me not to tell him how fast I was going. Thanked me for stopping. Gave me a $100cdn ($80us) fine and 3 points (never got another speeding ticket that year so there was no other fine).

This was in a Ford Probe GT. (my previous car)

82 in a 30 zone. Cop lectured me for 10 minutes and then let me off with a warning -- he had crossed out of his jurisdiction trying to catch me.

I got pulled over for doing 95 in a 55 zone. The cop would have really been mad if he had known that I had just slowed down from around 120..
Didn't get a ticket because I whipped out a PBA card. He confiscated it.

 

Okay, I am stupid, what's a PBA card?

 

PBA is the Policeman's Benevolent Assoc. Their union.. If you have a friend who is a cop or know someone, you can get cards that most cops will respect in minor situations and let you off the hook for things. Assuming they are in a good mood...

Local cops will respect them most of the time, but I have found that state police show no love for them. Twice I have had NJ State Troopers toss them back at me, saying they didn't acknowledge them.
