Another fail for the early 03 5AT Sedans - Sprint Booster doesn't work

had the same problem. just wrecked my ride last night here in NY.
had 03 g35 sedan rwd. I will be parting out my ride since I'm not covered by the insurance. Maybe I am a bad driver and stupid enough to drive out my RWD under the icy road condition. never had a problem with my g35. but could been better if it was an AWD IMO.
g37x is a way to go I think if you love infiniti and see lot of snow in your area. get a coupe! thats so damn sexy.

Since Technosquare stopped doing ECU flashes, I recently bought the new Sprint Booster to get some more throttle response. The Sprint Booster now have a 3 setting control setup: 'off', 'normal', and 'race'. They call these Sprint Boosters "Selectable". I ordered one on Tuesday and got it yesterday. I attempted to instill it and the Sprint plug that goes into the pedal assembly socket won't seat fully. It needs to go about 3 to 4 mm deeper. The issue is the pedal socket is shaped differently on the 03 early sedan. I opened up the 2003 G35 sedan FSM and sure enough, the Type 1 (early sedan 5AT) have a different pedal assembly. Go figure.
Sprint Booster wasn't aware of the problem, but now they are. They're actually being helpful. I researched the 02/03 Maxima since the early 2003 G35 sedans share some electrical arrangements, but the Sprint Booster part no. for the 02/03 Maxima auto is the same as the 02-06 G35 auto so it looks like a no go.
Sadly, I'm one step closer to getting rid of this car. Too much compromise for what I really want to do.

Dave time for me too help you, since you have help me so much!! Hears an idea like you said the pedal assembly was changed but i have read here that you can get an 350z 04 or 05 pedal assembly and swap it not only is the assembly different our cars (Early 03) have 2.5v the swap would give you 5v that would def work i no a couple guys with the booster kits such as blitz and sprintbooster. Try that first.

Dave, I looked at a 350Z pedal assembly (complete) and it appeared it would bolt up exactly where the sedan pedal assembly is.
How does the controller interface (electronically and mechanically)
Pics? Install instructions?
I've been closely following the thread on the Maxima forum where the guy is swapping to a 04 350Z ecm.

I have no doubt the pedal assembly from the 03.5 G and possibly the Z will bolt in fine. My concern is the voltage difference between the Type 1 and Type 2 pedals. I've studied the FSM and the voltage values between the Type 1 and Type 2 pedals are similiar, but not exact. I don't know how the Type 1 ECU would react.
The 02/03 Maxima Sprint Booster has the exact same part number as the Sprint Booster I have (2002-2006 G35 auto). Yes, they list 2002 which is interesting because the car did enter the Japanese market as a 2002.
This picture shows the ridge inside the pedal socket that is keeping the SB from seating fully. Oddly, the connecter clip on the SB snaps in as if were showing it was in place. I thought it was at first until I started my car and the rpms went to 2000, the VDC/CEL/TC/ABS lights came on, and the pedal was dead.
This picture shows the SB not seating fully into the pedal socket.

If I had money burning a hole in my pocket, I'd try and source an OEM ECM harness plug and run jumpers from the SB to OEM ECM plug and solder them.

^You know anyone nearby with an 04+ or a 350Z that would let you borrow their gas pedal?
That would tell you if the 5v APP sensor would work.
Though, I'm beginning to thing the SB simply isn't going to work.
It would have to read the 2.5v system, and provide data to the ecm in the same format, but also work with the 5v system? Sounds unlikely.

I not quite sure where this whole 2.5v thing is coming from.
According the FSM, the Type 1 reads the following values:

Accelerator pedal: Fully released 0.41 - 0.72V
Accelerator pedal: Fully depressed More than 3.2V
Sensor range up to nearly 5v
Accelerator sensor 2
Accelerator pedal: Fully released 0.15 - 0.98V
Accelerator pedal: Fully depressed More than 2.98V

Interesting. That makes three of us now and you've got an 03.5. That potentially means the Sprint Booster won't work with the 03.5 5AT sedans either. I'm going to forward this thread to the guys I'm talking with at Sprint Booster USA.
