05 Dash Problem
05 Dash Problem
I put a new radio in my friends 05 G35 sedan and the trim piece above the clock wont pop back in correctly. Ive taken the entire clock part out and back in many times hoping something was just caught up but no luck. None of the tabs on either piece are broken and everything looks like it should work just fine but for some reason isn't. Is there any type of trick to this???
TIA

I had the same problem after installing a double din nav... i took a piece of padded foam tape about 3in long and about 0.5in thick and stuck it to the underside of the trim piece closest to the windshield...this assisted in keeping the piece flat and flush towards the front and still allowed clips to fasten correctly...I hope i explained this well enough, if not just ask cuz this worked 100% to return factory look
The "Cluster Lid Finisher Upper" is a pain. This is all the manual shows and with these instructions for removal:
"Pull to the backside, disconnect clips and pawls, and remove cluster lid finisher upper."
And to install?
"Install in the reverse order of removal."
D'OH!
I remember battling with mine but eventually something did click and it went flush again... Look closely and make sure the "pawls" are lining up right.
Good luck
