BobbyD:

Since your "G" is a 2003 model, have you upgraded to the Limited Slip Differential? If not, wonder what that would do for your times - should make the traction issue (especially the 0-60ft times) more manageable, at any rate ??

CMan,
I remember speaking with you in the lanes. After I hit the 13's I wanted to find you and let you know what a G35 could do since we both have the same car. I lurk on LS2.com and saw all the posts from that track outing. It was nice meeting you and good luck with your "family car" at the track!

dbarnes,
No upgrades or mods have been done to my car, it sits as it came from the factory. With a true limited slip and a set of drag radials mid 13's should be within reach.

Re: 13.96 @ 101 no mods!!!
Dude, let me say congrats b/c I was always watching you and some others and I knew it could be done! Nice, Nice, Nice Job. I always said the 6 spds had it in them if you could launch it hard and tight...the effing autos, even after all I have done will not launch right...and high 2.1s are the best it will pull for 60' times and if you do a search of all my posts re: this very thing you will see how much I emphasize the 60' time being the missing link. I always said a 2.0 was good for a 13.8-13.9 and you proved me right.

You were always supportive of me and I am so glad you finally got it. I may bring mine back up in the early spring a few times...if I'm not on the ZR 900 up in the mountains sledding, but 14.00 at 100.7 in an auto is pretty nuts...bone stock it ran 14.1 at 97...so I don't have any regrets.

BTW, my 87 GT still chirps 4th gear and no, and the Rock means no G35 on the planet will see me in his or her rearview mirror...lol

Congrats again and have a great winter!!!

Re: 13.96 @ 101 no mods!!!
Dude, that was back in the stone ages....back with 2k on my engine...the car ran 14.5s all summer with 5K on it and then ran 14.19 this spring stock...then I did the all the mods and it became faster to shift it manually b/c of the increased rev limiter and all the other mods allowing it to breathe better...the only limitation was launching hard or losing traction when it got too cold.

Don't try to punk me, I've been doing this too long.

Re: 13.96 @ 101 no mods!!!
bosssho,

Thanks for the kind words! As you mentioned its all in the 60' time when it comes to drag racing. I probably could have improved my times this weekend as the weather was awesome. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it out for some passes, but guys who ran last weekend improved their times based just on the better weather.
That's it for the season here, no more racing till spring

I finally got a video of my best run. It was really windy that day and my friend shooting had a few too many tequilas the night before. Anyhow, if anyone can host it I can email it to you. I think that with better weather and traction I can manage to drop another tenth!

How much of that kind of "abuse" can a stock clutch take?

Has anyone used the "short throw" shifter kit out there?

A short throw will do nothing for 1/4 times. Might even slow you down if it is overly notchy.

Quote: To answer some questions, I'm located in Toronto, Canada eh! The track I ran at is Toronto Motorsports Park which is about 1 hr out of Toronto.
ALL BETS ARE OFF Gentlemen...

Isn't the Canadian second shorter than the US second? I'm pretty sure it is... something about latitude or something.
