Seriously...what a strange comment. These cars are way too slow to even be concerned with anything like this.

Can you shoot me a price/availability?

First, you won't notice the weight savings unless you've already stripped the car down already.

Second, if you're not going to have a full diameter spare in the X, then don't bother with a smaller one, it only provides a false sense of security. You need to have similar diameters or you risk damaging the AWD system.

Where'd you get an AL one for the AWD? Or is it the same as the RWD? I thought they were different, and I didn't know an AL AWD was even out there.

You can get away with it on 1 wheel however.

The open differential would compensate for the different diameters. It would be no different that driving around in a large circle all the time. It's why our AWD cars have open diffs front and rear.

Issue is when both front wheels are different than both rears. Now the diffs can't account for that sort of difference

I'd rather have my full-size spare anyway. Spacer savers are rated for 50MPH and 50mile distance. If i go on a long trip, i want a real tire.

My car is prob the fattest G35 model possible. All options, full size spare, navi, AWD, the only year for the larger brakes, etc....it's a pig so i deal with it

It sure is. PM Tollboothwilley.

By the way that thing saved my **** today. We had a huge storm here in chicago, a tree trunk about 5" in diameter got lodged under my car...ended up dragging it about 1 mile until it came loose. The shroud def. had some dents in it from the tree, but absorbed the impact very well.

If you are lowered and dont have an aluminum shroud, youre seriously out of your mind! best money ive spend on my car.

That's good to know. I'm sticking with the full spare too.

Awesome idea! I'd have to see what kind of shape mine is in, but I can see something like that definitely coming in handy.
