oil burning...
after running into this problem on my coupe (its in the dealer right now after burning up all its oil twice after 3k miles) and researching this a bit i notice that it is something that happens on 350 z and g 35 coupes.....
has anyone out there experienced it yet on their sedan or is this a problem confined to the higher output 3.5L engines?
thanks
mike

Re: oil burning...
hum... this just happened to my friends Z. They are replacing the engine for him. Ask the dealer if they will replace the engine. I doubt this has happen to any other G35drivers. Nothing that i have heard. What mods do you have? Are you using synthetic oil and if so when did you start using it

no mods, no synthetic, followed all manufacturer guidelines for maintenance and break in. this has been happening to coupes. from what i understand i may have to go through a bit of hassle with infiniti before they will own up to the problem

skeleton_cru started this thread, sounds like it could be the same issue.

Re: oil burning...
most likely....it would be interesting to see whether the problem is confined to certain production dates are whether it is random. i would like to hope that nissan has gotten their act together and that i don't have to get rid of the car for fear of it happening again

infiniti dealer in honolulu. so far they have been reasonable. their current diagnosis is a failed pcv, which they've had to order from the mainland. we shall see if that fixes the problem
