Got into a fender bender today

and it's my fault. Just when things couldn't get any worse this year. The only thing positive that happened was my tax rate for 2010 compared to like 2 dozen other bad things that happened since the beginning of this year.

I hit this car making a u turn and the bad thing is that the other car was already stationary by the time I actually hit the car. **** like this always happens to me around the same time every 3 years.

After the accident I took the car to get it aligned because my steering wheel was not centered and they couldn't get the caster and camber on that wheel back to spec. Could be the knuckle that connects to the brake spindle and upper A arm since it's the first thing the wheel would hit. At least that is readily available used from 350zs and early Gs.
At least the steering wheel is centered now and the car doesn't feel any different cruising around 90mph. But I'll get excessive tire wear on that wheel.

I probably need the part in the #1 box and a new spindle.

Bummer man. Looks like the finish on that wheel took a bit of a beating too.

That other car had no damage at all other than cosmetic. Mine took the worst of it because it's all plastic, aluminum and thin sheet metal but at least it weighs about the same even if it's RWD and 10 times the car.

Ouch! I saw your post in my thread, and was wondering when you'd get the pics up here. Get your suspension right ASAP, then worry about the cosmetics - looks like the expensive stuff on your car is OK (headlight assy. and wheel) so it hopefully won't be too bad for you. The Monte you hit fared pretty well - hopefully not too much out of your pocket in the long run. Good luck with the repairs and keep us posted!

The whole car is cosmetic damage. I hate Monte Carlos.

First thing I'd check is the control arm #15.

LOL! I'm not a fan at all of the '95-'99 Monte, but I loved my '80s SSs. I've owned 4 of 'em over the years, just sold my last one a few weeks ago after almost 15 years.

The damage could really be on any of the parts, I would try to replace as many as you can before the alignment. Most importantly would be #1 and #10.

That sucks. Let us know what all needed to be replaced once it's fixed. I'm curious how much damage you could do making a u-turn.

I located the spindle, wheel hub and knuckle in #1 for $129 shipped. I love how Nissan/Infiniti uses the same parts for every premium car they make. God love'em.

It's dirt cheap so I will replace that also if she still doesn't get back to normal. I got SPL bushings in that LCA but I'll replace them with the Nismo ones.
