Tom's build thread!
at 108,000 miles i guess I'm not too surprised i guess...but i wished I would have picked it up before i bought the car haha. Where I was test driving it was all city streets. no freeways so i couldn't relly shift into 5th at a higher speed.
5th works when I'm cruisng under 50-60mph
I also got it to go past 60, but I shifted into 5th and released the clutch like it was hot haha, won't stay in 5th if your slowly let the clutch go...

LOL. Kudos to you for knowing how to search and actually reading a sticky!
That SC looked sharp! Hurt to see it flooded
From the looks of all your previous rides, the G should be in good hands.

Getting my fenders rolled on Wednesday, installing coilovers thursday (most liekly stance coilovers), installing a double din hopefully by the weekend! Gotta get this baby stanced out!
I really need to get my transmission issue looked at first though, any thoughts or opinions on the matter?

Moving fast huh? lol. Welcome.
Since you have a bad clutch im gonna ask this here. When in high rpms let say in 2nd, and i try to upshift, its like really hard and a lot of vibrations coming through the shifter. Is this normal for a stick shift or is it signs of a clutch going bad?

Easy way to test the clutch
put it in 5th gear from a stop. start driving and if it doesn't immediately stall you know the clutch is bad.
There is a lot of info on aftermarket vs stock clutch and flywheel options. Take a look in the DRIVETRAIN section of the forum.

^Note... Does not work with WS-6 Trans-Am
I know that's completely random, but that "test" just reminded me of what I did one night just screwing around. Tried to see what the highest gear I could get the TA to take off in on level ground.
It was 5th. Took a lot of babying, just touch a bit and barely get it moving but punch back in before it stalled.
That engine makes a stupid amount of torque, so it was able to do it without the clutch slipping (other than the little bit I slipped it)
But it dropped down to somewhere around 250-300RPM and bucked like a *****, but didn't die
good times
