I have no idea. The place I took it to apparently had repaired this same issue a lot of times before so they knew exactly what it was before I even brought it in there.

im currently living in Vegas and I too have a G35 2003.
I talked to my AC instuctor about this problem, we looked it up on all data it had about 40+ steps to fix this problem.

then on the top right side of the monitor it clearly says "RECALL"
we clicked on it and a new window popped out saying
"Voluntary service campaign audio finisher circuit board"

Introduction:
On some model year 2003 G35 sedans manufactured through august 21. 2002, the audio and temperature controls may not operate as expected. when using the audio equipment and temperature controls, the unit may become inoperative. In some case this can be corrected by turning the ignition switch off and back on again. In other case, the unit remains inoperative and requires service by an infiniti technician. TO PREVENT THIS CONDITION, INFINITI HAS INITIATED A VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN TO REPLACE THE AUDIO FINISHER CIRCUIT BOARD ON THESE VEHICLES.

I called tustin infiniti in California and they confirmed it is a recall !
but tobin infiniti here in vegas denied it, and instead told me they can fix it for $550 with a new stereo.

So if it is a recall why did they deny you??
Aren't they suppose to honor recalls?

Ima first try the Infiniti dealer and see if they'll honor it or just deny me. Worst case I'll just have to replace everything.

I dont know why they would deny me, only thing I can think of is that they would lose time and money if they fix it for free.

so it depends on them if they volunteer to fix it or not? what kind of recall is that?
so if I go to tustin infiniti in LA california they will fix it, yet tobin infiniti in Vegas wont?
thats so disapointing...

I personally don't think it's right what theyre doing. If it's a recall they SHOULD fix it.
