New Y-Pipe is Installed
I had a leak in one side of my y-pipe in the braided section. It's probably been leaking for a year but it got bad enough that I wanted to fix it. Turned out that the whole y-pipe had to be replaced.
The problem was that the stock part was $660+. So I started looking for an aftermarket part. But what would fit? Turns out that the 35x model takes an HR type y-pipe. I got a good price on a Megan Racing Y-Pipe from Marinelli Motorsports. It was at my door in a few days.
I took it to my mechanic and he charged about an hour labor to install it. Everything needed was included from Megan, gaskets and hardware.
My car is qieter now but still has a slight rumble because the new pipe doesn't have any of the sound deadening packing around it like the stock part. Seat of the pants dyno says no leak works better than a leaking exhaust.
I also got around to taking my snows off and putting my Yoko S drives on. So it's time to drive.
