well... thought crossed my mind again when I realized I wouldn't have to pay for such a large house after my divorce is final, but when I was looking at cars I was approved for enough money to get a new gtr, a used 911 gt3, used supra twin turbo, new is-f, new cts-v, or new m3(dealer financing on that one, but was approved). My bank loves me. I owe nothing on my g35 and I'm only 20. I have an amazing credit score for my age and had 2 credit cards since I was 18 and got another last year with a high limit. If I wanted I could get a nice car on a loan. I just would rather not have a loan. after I have a condo and get ahead on it I'll consider it again. I am just too young to drive that nice of a car. My dad even thinks my g35 was too nice for me, but if I listened to him I'd drive a camry till I was 50.

I find something wrong with your story. For some reason it doesn't seem believable. So let me get this straight... your buying a house, you're 20, in process of a divorce at the age of 20! (what was the rush?), somehow you can get approved for let's say $95,000 or whatever the amount is for a new GT-R nowadays, you paid off the G35 (congrats on that), your credit score is amazing (how amazing is it if you don't mind me asking?), and what really surprises me is that you only started your credit 2 years ago so how in the world would you get a high credit? Not trying to give you a hard time, but I'm trying to make the most sense of it.

All is possible. Care to explain?

2012 Kia Rio, I need better gas mileage. However I plan on keeping the G.

Single income family, so most high priced cars are unrealistic for me.

my w2 said 78k last year and I have 3 years of college behind me. I was just promoted from the job I was in last year to technology director of a company with 29 locations and growing everyday. my bank has given me 3 loans already and I paid all of them off early. my credit score was 734 this time last year. My banker at Suntrust litterally told me if I wanted a 100,000 dollar unsecured loan I could have it with 0 questions asked. the fact my dad has a multi million dollar loan from them for his company doesn't hurt that either.

I was buying a house on rent to own (woman I'm divorcing's idea) and now I am just going to buy a condo that cost half as much. that just freed up 700 a month before even talking about utilities.

I have been a ccna since I was 17. I have been working with adobe since I was 12 and can build websites in my sleep at this point. I have been with this company since I was 16. I graduated from high school at 16. I got my associates degree at 17. I moved out of my parents house at 17 as well. I'm back in their basement till the divorce is over and I can buy a condo without my now ex going crazy.

btw I didn't pay off my g35. I bought it outright. long story short I'm a total geek that finally has a job where he gets to enjoy being a geek since he was in middle school. So, if I really wanted to be stupid and go get a 100k loan I could. I'm not stupid enough to do it. especially since I'm going through a mutual divorce where I'm giving her anything she wants. btw again. I haven't had a week where I worked less than 60 hours in the past 3 months. whenever I get my ex out of that huge waste of a house I will have money again.

If i were to go trade in today....2011 M37x. If i lived somewhere where it didn't snow, i'd get an M56.

HOWEVER, since i drive 25K+ miles a year and put a lot of wear and tear into my cars, i just don't think i can own a nice daily driver anymore. My G might be my last, and i've actually had thoughts of just getting a civic or something for commuting as the car is primarily transport to and from work.

I'm 30 now, and my priorities have changed. I don't need a car to impress anyone..including myself. Now i just want to work and make $$$ and have a great life. I have a hot fiance who will screw me no matter what I drive..and have a "toy" Mustang in the garage that is my hobby car. My girl even turned in her Lexus IS250 after the lease was up, and bought a Jeep Cherokee with intent to own as long as it lives. So yeah...both of us are kinda getting past the "wanting nice cars" phase.

M37x/M56 would be nice, but i think i've decided to just drive my 06x til it dies and then see what else is out there as a used reasonable car to buy. The only cash i put into my G35 is fuel and maintainence. I don't skimp out on it though. I intend to keep it as long as possible to avoid car payments, so i take VERY good care of it.

I'm trying to buy my second house (so i can rent my current condo on the beach), and for those of you that own homes, House > cars.

But...if i ever found a deal..i'd park a low-mileage 03/04 Cobra convertible in the garage next to my LX 5.0L.

^^^ I agree, but its so much nicer to have a nice daily driver.

I put about the same 25K-30K a year on my car but id rather put the miles on a nice car rather than an a 95 camry

I agree 100%....that why I drive a G35

Who knows, maybe when it's time to ditch my '06...the new G25x's might be fairly cheap in used condition.

I guess it's a decision i'd have to make when the situation presents itself. Right now..i'm happy with my car
