Hey guys! Is there a normal oil consumption rate for our cars? Sometimes I hear you shouldnt lose any oil other times I hear it can use a quart every 3000 miles. The reason I ask is because I just checked my oil and noticed it was a bit low. I added more but wanted to know if it is normal or if I may be leaking or burning oil?

SEARCH BUTTON IS AVAILABLE FOR A REASON..haha. hmm check your dip stick every 1,000 miles and mark where it was and at 3k.. you will have an idea if your car is eating up oil.. but from my knowledge being a little low is normal. (if i am wrong then my bad)

My 06X consumed about 1 to 1.25 quarts every 3500-4000 miles.
Been this way since new, same amount is consumed every time for the last 85K miles

Half quart at 1500 miles. Change at 3500. Get about 4.25 out.
