Intake advice?

Hey guys, I was looking to ordering an intake this weekend but I wanted to get any advice you guys might have on selection. I was just gunna go with the stillen Z tube but would it be better to get just the tube or spend 230 on the whole package? from what ive read the stock airbox is already really efficient so I wouldnt wanna waste 150 bucks for no reason. any other intakes you guys might suggest?

what's "the whole package"? are you talking about a stillen? I think, we need to teach people how to search before they are aloud to join.

yes i was talking about the stillen z tube package with the air filter and Z tube and no im fully capable of using the search which i did thats why I wanna clarify with anybody did they find it worth it to go with just the Z tube itself or did they get the air filter too? Or would the JWT pop charger be the best choice? Just looking for advice, everyones gotta start somewhere.

Get a Z-tube, K&N filter for stock box and find a rev-up box with the larger velocity stack. You can modify the box to pull in COLD AIR and this will be the best intake without loosing any power or experiencing heatsoak. Everything else is for looks and adds nothing to you cars baseline dyno but rather your E_BRAGGING rights for how much you spent to looooooose power.

This^^. I really dont think any of the intake mods are worth it if you are looking for power gains, sound is another story.

this question has been asked tons of times, if you used the search you would not have to make a thread so no sir, you do not know how to search.

Make your own "stillen" style intake box using your OEM box. You get the nice cone suction sound and no heat soak and it's a fraction of the cost

r2c maxxflow intake. They will be releasing a revised version using a round aluminum tube. My car picked up 10hp on the dyno compared to the square plastic tube they currently have. These should be ready for sale in about a week. I will post pics when my arrives and get great deals on these intakes, FYI.

Do you have a dyno sheet showing before and after?

I'm running the front half of the R2C with a UTR z tube. I know I didn't get 10 HP.

The numbers don't lie...the engineer was baffled just as much as I was. I can't wait for my black nickel tube to get here...

No, unless he did it why I wasn't looking, but I helped him change out the tube so 99% sure it was cleaned.

It was noticeable difference on the drive back from the dyno to the shop and the increase in power was throughout the power band.
