RECOMMENDATION FOR ROTORS and PADS

I know I need new pads, but I am not sure if I need new rotors.
The rotors look like they're still ok, but is there a more precise way to tell??

Which rotors do you guys recommend and which pads??

What do you think of these:

Thank you in advance for the help!

Honestly I liked my R1 Concept premiums.. but if I had the money and standard sized rotors I'd go with stop techs or brembo's just based on user reviews. As for pads.... can't go wrong with OEM .. but stop tech and hawk make very good pads.

Thank you!
what is the price difference between R1 Concept premiums and Techs??

What about rotors.... is there a good way to tell how worn out they are, or if you need new ones?

Honestly the only way I know is ... Well here are two ways.

When depressing the brake pedal does the pedal shake? If so they are warped.

Another way is to feel if there is a ridge on the rotor. As in if the pad was chewing through the steel.

Cool... thank you Eric! Appreciate it.

I was looking at the rotor+pad package on ebay.

Can also use a micrometer to make sure the rotors are still within factory spec. If you have access to a micrometer of course

I wouldn't run ebay no-name pads and rotors. Typically the rotors are cast like **** and tend to have hot spots, which will lead to premature warping and pad wear. Get a quality set of rotors, and if anything cheap out on the pads.

Probably the best thing I did was to dump the small arsed rotors and single piston calipers and put on a set of 12.6" / dual piston front and rear brakes from a 2005+ car.

are the 05 parts a direct swap if you have the caliper caliper bracket and rotors? Do you need 05 brake hoses or is the fitting the same?

that is the best/cheapest upgrade to do but it might be more then what the OP bargained for since the cheapest set i ever saw for used parts complete was about $350-400 shipped.

I using centric C-tek rotors all around, about $20-40 each on amazon. $40 duralast gold ceramic (lifetime hassle free warranty) up from and hawks HPS in the rear $30-40. I rounded up all prices.

That setup for me is great for daily driving. Less dust then OEM, easy to get parts. If i do take it to a autocross thing, right after the event i can get brand new pads for free in the front. Centric makes stoptech, so having the C-tek line is just a lower end rotor. I would rate this pads under then OEM but on par with hawks, just a lower price tag.

I would easily get the newer twin piston calipers had i found a local set for cheap.

I just did Duralast - Autozone rear rotors and Carquest fronts with Carquest ceramic pads on all corners.
Then pulled a quart of DOT3 through the system.

The car rides like new now.

I thought about slotted/drilled rotors, but every car I have owned in the last five years starts to shake around 10-15K miles.
So this time I went generic to see it I can get more longevity.

Just a note: some of those Ebay rotors look great when you install them. But after a few thousand miles you realize how bad they suck!

I drive 30K per year so I will know soon.
