Cruise control SET light flashing

So I scraped the bottom of my car some when in this stupid parking garage, and right after my cruise control SET light started blinking. I turned the car off and restarted and it was working fine again. Now it works intermittently. It always works when I turn the car on, but will sometimes start flashing again after a random amount of time after driving and the cruise control will stop working.

I pulled code P1564 which is the ASCD steering control switch. Anyone ever have this problem and know how to fix it? I actually had this same thing once before, but that turned out to be water getting on the ECU. I fixed that problem 6+ months ago and had no trouble with it since.

Edit: Also tried looking under the car and didn't see any connectors loose or disconnected. Everything looked normal that I could see.

I had this problem and the buttons on my steering wheel had to be replaced.

Damn, hope that's not the case. I hear it's a pain to take the steering wheel apart. How much did it run you to fix?

Sorry for the delayed response. It was somewhere between $300 and $350 for parts + labor at the dealer. I'd order the parts and do it yourself, or just buy a replacement steering wheel... both options will be less expensive.

My cruise control light doesnt blink but the car will disengage cruise control all by itself. I'll set it, drive for a while then the car mysteriously decels. Look over and the set light is off. Happens randomly. On flat ground, hills, and different speeds (70, 75, 80) Is this a symptom of the switches going bad? Looks like I need to pull the codes to find out.

I had that happen before as well, but the light would always flash when it did.

Strangely enough, this issue is not happening for me anymore... Makes me wonder if my ECU got wet again somehow... Or something else under the car.
