New to Infiniti. ECU question

Hello everyone and thanks in advance for your time.

I recently (2months) purchased a used 2004 G35x Sedan. I'm a truck/suv kind of guy but needed something a bit better on gas since my daily drive got considerably longer due to a location change. I had no previous knowledge of Infiniti autos, but when I test drove this car I became attached quickly. It was fun as hell. Not that it's so much better on fuel, but it is better.

Anyway, I was doing an oil / air filter change and I disconnected the battery for about 10 mins. The air filter wasn't THAT dirty but the car now seems to be a lot more aggressive with shifting and throttle response.

I've read about the ECU reset with the gas pedal combo and the 12 hour battery disconnect, but I haven't been able to find a straight answer on how long the battery actually needs to be disconnected for this to occur.

Is it possible that my ECU was reset after 10 minutes of no power?

dont you mean infiniti

or

To answer your question there is really no timeframe once the negtive is disconnected from the battery the ECU will reset and can be relearned for your driving habits

I didn't know that Infinity made autos, is it a hybrid? I'll bet it comes with a better sound system then the crappy Bose system that Infiniti puts in their cars.

I believe that the change in throttle response is due to the ECU resetting from being disconnected. I dont know much, but I have never understood the 12 hr dx idea. I dont think the ecu has a back-up power source or a reserve that would hold it's memory for that long. Whenever I have reset my ecu I've just disconnected the battery and did chores or something (no real specific amount of time, maybe an hour or two or less).

When I first listened to the sound system I thought it wasn't too bad but soon realized it is pretty horrible. It really depends on the music. Certain tunes sound better than others. The radio produces static on every station, the midrange seems way too high and the bass response is terrible.

You probably only need to disconnect it for an hour or so. Another way is to disconnect the negative battery terminal and pump the brakes several times. That is supposed to discharge whatever current remains in the system.
