Hey, Infiniti, Listen Up! Free Focus Group Info!
i actually like the amber colored interior lights. to me, it gives that classy look. whereas plain white interior would be truly cheap. blue, green, etc colors would be too sporty/racer for most of the demographic that infiniti is trying to target. it would be okay for the 350z though. some may disagree with me about this but i believe it's the reason why acura has lost some of its luxury appeal or edge. acura has targeted many young drivers with the cl, rsx, or new tl. it's design is very modern and sporty--the ext. and int alike. however honestly, the acura name isn't associated with luxury as other manufacturers like mercedes benz, lexus, bmw, or even infiniti. more often, ppl consider acura as "just an acura" as of late.
as for the gas mileage, i don't think you can get much better with a 260-280+ hp car. i consistently get 20-24 mpg which is not bad.

I just bought a G35x today =) (shipping in one from another lot, so I haven't seen it yet) but I didn't even think there was an extra antenna for the Sirius I purchased with it. Where is this antenna? Is it ugly and noticable? Does anyone have a picture of it?
I got a 05 g35 and infiniti has not changed the type of antenna, I went to a local car audio store and had them put on a terk micro antenna, it looks much better than the factory antenna which I still have if anyone wants it, pm me.....
In addition to some of many good suggestion above, I like to add:
1. I would like to have the coupe front seats for the sedan.
2. A trip computer for the non-Navi model.
3. A rear and/or side sun shades.
(2 and 3 make the car much more luxurious feel)
4. Coupe exhaust sound for sedan.
5. Sport suspension should be at least 1/2 to 3/4 inch lower than normal one, like BMW
and especially, already mention above: less brake dust please. I hate cleaning my rims every week.

Amen to suggestion 2 -- I would love the AWD sedan with the 6-speed manual transmission. I am very happy, as it is, with my RWD 6MT sedan but it is a bit of a pain to change wheels and tires every winter! (I know, I may still have to do so to maximize performance, but I rather suspect I will be able to manage with a good set of all season tires year round.)
Forgive me if I missed this suggestion, but I would like the signature clock to look brighter. It is not very distinguished looking nor is it well lit. I am sure the designers can come up with a better rendition of the analog clock without too much trouble.
Another thing, while we are at it, is to make the memory seat operations more intuitive and easy. Changing the location of the buttons/toggles so one can actually adjust the seat and mirrors perfectly and then press ONE easily accessible button would be perfect!
Right now one needs a rubber neck to do it while seated.
Finally, again my apologies if I missed it, thank you all for NOT suggesting that the seat controls be moved to a different location like on the side of the front seat cushions. I am in a minority, perhaps, of those that think the current location for the seat controls is more accessible and sensible.

I would like to see projector HID's on the 2006 (both high and low beam). Also they need to use a tougher paint (especially on the front bumper to decrease rock chips).
I agree on an earlier comment regarding the seat warmers. It would be nice if the entire seat would heat up instead of just the back of the seat bottom.
I would like to see the adaptive transmission on the 5AT go away. It does not provide any benefit and requires an ECU reset if I spend even one day in traffic. It shifts way too soon and forces me to use manual mode more than I would prefer. My '96 Ford Explorer makes better shift point decisions than my '03 coupe.
Lastly, I would like to see a supercharged option around 380HP to get closer to Corvette teritorry. If the GTR ends up costing $65K there is a huge gap a supercharged G35 could fill.

Many repeats of other posters, but:
Brembos on sedan
Coupe exhaust on sedan
Coupe seats on sedan
Coupe wheels & tires (staggered) on sedan (or other lightweight, forged wheels)
6MT+AWD
Refine the traction control. It's too obtrusive when trying to accelerate quickly (e.g., if you chirp 2nd gear)
SS braided brake lines
reorient center stack controls for LHD
Basically, I'd like a true track/sport version of the sedan, just like the 6mt sport coupe, just with four doors.
Plus, I actually wouldn't mind if the 1-5 gears were cut a little straighter so they'd whine just a little bit. Gear 6 ought to be quiet for highway driving. Oh yeah, and the 4.5 V8.
They could call my version the G45-S.

I like the design touch of having an analog clock in the G35. It's a nice touch of class and sophistication in a world that embraces the latest digital technology. But I do wish the clock was designed differently. While I like the analog aspect, I feel the clock is too simple looking. I'd like to see more of an aviator, fine Swiss watch look to the clock in the G35.
I do kind of miss the rain sensing wipers that my bimmer had. It was nice not to have and reach for the stalk and start the wipers all the time. Especially useful when it was misting lightly and the windshield would need wiping every minute or so.

And please don't ever bring back the '04 look...I would be driving a TL were it not for the interior AND exterior upgrades of '05.
#1 and #5 I'm behind that all the way. I think those cheap @ss orange lights look like ****, Also instead of black some nice white or sivler guauges. Tha dash I don't even want to get started on that...
#7 please and rain sensor wiper as some one else said would be awsome!
**One other thing, you need to get your design team on some real "fog lights" for the sedan and coupe!**

Adds:
Multiple tire and wheel combos. Better tires, soft and sticky Yokohama Avids or Michelin Pilot/ or Pilot A/S for all season applications. This is a sport sedan not a Lexus. The tires won't last a long time, 12-18K mile, but they are worth every penny. The stock tires are way too hard.
I would also like to see an option for having the routing maintenance in the price of the car like BMW or Audi. Again as an option to keep the cost down if you don't want this.
HUD like the Vette. The heads up display is great.
Brembos and AWD with 6 speed like everyone else has discussed. 1" lower on sport models.
Lose the horn when locking, it's annoying.
I solved the sliding child seat issue with a piece of antiskid fabric that you line drawers with so items don't move around. It costs about $20 for a monster roll of several yards.
