I want to lower my '04 sedan
I was wondering what I would need, for the cheapest route (college budget). My friend told me that the rear did not have springs and I was planning on putting Z springs all around. Just wondering what my options were to get it a little bit lower than stock, but not too low.

This might be a good start. ....Also a quick peak behind your rear wheel will tell you that your friend is wrong. Spend a little more time digging around on this site, the info is there and I am pretty sure you will find almost all the answers you need without posting new threads.

I just dropped my 05 6mt rev-up Sedan and since my vehicle is MANUAL it already comes with SPORT SHOCKS (RED - TOKICO). I used 350z springs in the front and it brought it down about .75" and G35 coupe springs in the rear and it lowered about .5". The drop is even all around since I have a slim sub, car seat and stroller in the car. I have upgrade to chunky tires using 245/45/18 in the front and 255/45/18 in the rear.
I will probably end up using some sort of spacers when I find a good price on them. The springs cost me nothing (THANKS ACIDJAKE) and labor was done by my buddy and my self (BEERS & PIZZA). I did not need to mess around with a spring compressor and had everything installed and bolted up in about 3hrs time including small breaks.
I love the handling of the car and for the cost ($0) it was well worth it. The sport shocks have a very nice rebound and don't feel bouncy at all. It acutally help remove the amount of travel and rebound I had when going over bumps. The car no longer lurches up when launching or nose diving when braking hard. I can still take speed bumps and go over rough roads with out too much worry. I would gladly do the swap all over again for the benefits to cost ratio. Only thing I can think off is doing a Solid Motordyne sway bar on medium setting and making sure all bushings and suspension components are intact.
Edit: Make sure to match up spring rates with correct shocks. You really want to find a complete set for sale of shocks/springs/struts. That will give you a reliable drop. You can use your existing shocks/struts but it might cause it to blow/leak early and give you a crappy ride. If you do not have sport shocks than put something in decent since you are already doing all the work.

its funny because ..
i wrote ...
"u can find a good price for used 1s"
( used teins )
if you wait and look around you can pick up coilover teins for around 400$ give or take
"go with h&r springs they go for about 270-280"
as stated above 280$
so give or take 200- 300$
for 200 more dollars coilovers is way better then springs..
im a college student also . and on a well intense watched budget..
so i do know where he is coming from. but with patients and budgeting he rather off buying used GOOD coilovers.
as for i did.. and loving it .. and have no problem with them .
and of course . most members on here once on springs. want to go lower.
and end up buying coils anyways . .
