i'm thinking of buying a 2005 g35 sedan with sport pkg and aero pkg w/ rear spoiler. from what i was told, the 2005 model changed the front and rear bumpers and side sills are now painted, so it looks almost looks like the prior models with the aero pkg. so, my question is, what does 2005 aero pkg really add? can someone please point me to a picture with the 2005 model with aero pkg?

thanks for reading.

i believe the aero kit is actually under body pieces that reduce drag, plus the wing for the trunk lid

There is also a chin spoiler for the sedan, but not sure if it's part of the package.

Here's a pic of the lip

Aero Package: ($550)
this includes the underbody diffusers and rear spoiler. This is the FUNCTIONAL aero package that works to reduce drag and keep you on feet on the ground at high speeds.

Aerodynamic Body (don't see it listed for the 05) (~$2000)
This is the COSMETIC aero front and rear bumpers and color matched side sills. It includes the rear spoiler, and they will try to charge you for it in the Aero Kit, as well as the Aerodynamic package. Make sure you argue that, since the underbody fairings only account for $75 of the Aero Kit price. So they get you for spoiler twice.

At the CA Int'l car show, the guy said that the old aerodynamic body would still fit the 05's, and was not sure about a new design. But then again, if it wasn't printed on his talking points, he wouldn't have known anything.

the old kit would fit the 05? that would mean the opposite is true. according to everythingg35.com and my service tech, the front bumper would not line up properly. someone try and let me know

everythingg35 is probably correct (that site is owned by Infiniti of Scottsdale) Like I said, the Infiniti rep (or manpower/apple1 temp agency rent-a-person) probably did not know what they were talking about.

I had also heard that many delaerships over the summer were offering they body kits at a 30% off because the new models would not be using them.

So we wait and see, i guess.

the g35 aero pkg w/ rear spoiler is listed as $1,100 and contains rear spoiler, body colored splash guards, and front bumper chin.

I am with you ILL, I'm not feelin it. It looks like a cheap aftermarket kit. No where near as refined as a factory kit should be.

i think it needs to be SLAMMED!!! then it'll look like a coupe with a lip spoiler!

Is it me or does the rear now look meaner!!!!!!

So the only diff. between the $1100 full kit and the $490 rear spoiler/underbody kit are the mud guards and the front lip. Seems like a lot to pay for mud guards, I'll go aftermarket.

Martin, got agree with you on this one.
I don't like the tacked on look. (same applies to the coupe)

The Nismo sport bumper doesn't have much of a lip,
but it looks great because it's integated into the design!

I know the '05 approach makes the kit cost less,
but I'd rather pay more & have a one piece sport bumper.

It looks really cheap and tacked on. Doesn't look integrated into the body at all. Very ricer.
