I believe your number on about $2000 is wrong.

The new lip for the 2005 Sedan front bumper is just a lip just like the coupes.

It shouldn't cost much more than the coupes lip if anything. Probably around $300.

www.japanparts.com said that they can get it but I'm not sure what they are charging.

from a trusted source......

No changes required.
It's a direct bolt on with the same mounting points.
(just like the new tail lights)

intgr8r,

can you confirm w/ your trusted source that this would work for an 03-04.5? i just spoke to an infiniti tech that said it would not work on an 03 because the front has a different core support on an 05.

You may be right, I just asked about mounting points, never thought about the support in behind.

Isn't the support just foam blocks stuck on an alluminum cross member?
If so, you should be able to get those as well
I'll see if I can find out more info.

If you want the whole front bumper it might not fit correctly.

The bumper is simply a 2005 G35 Sedan front bumper.

The lip on the bottom is the add on. That is direct bolt on.

The lip will not fit on the bumper of 03-04 G35 Sedans.

Thanks for clarifying for those that didn't pick up on that....
I realize that both are required.
The lip goes with the '05 bumper

I am trying to get confirmation on the bumper fittment.
You would think this would be a logical upgrade, especially
since the old sport bumper is being discontinued.

Anyway... I'll let y'all know.

Just heard back from my contact (Infinity Serv Mgr)

He Said -
I believe that the front bumper cover will not fit clean, as the headlamp design is slightly different. ..... we have this cover on most of the 2005 that have wandered through our doors......
Once I get a better opportunity I will see if this cover can fit.
As others have said it looks like there may be some issues,
but may still be doable.

inTgr8r, have you received any more information on the availability and cost of the front lip? Thanks.

No...
Last I heard the aero parts were still on hold.
I think due to paint match issues.

I've pretty much shelved this idea for myself....
