There is still no proof that motordyne had dynoed the ztube. I don't care what others are saying about the ztube... I want motordyne proof.. if there is no proof, then the comments are only your opinion.

The quote is straight from Tony (owner) at Motordyne. The guy does hundreds of dynos for R&D purposes. Believe what you want. The facts are the Z-tube does not make any HP over the G-tube. If it did make power (same goes for intakes), Motordyne would be making them. It's such a simple product to make and with very high profits. However, Motordyne will not make parts that don't perform. Intakes are one of those parts.

I'd also toss that K&N in the trash the second you get it. They're worthless and tend to coat the MAF elements in filter oil. Nissan MAF sensors are very finicky. An OEM paper filter will outflow most anything for the first 10K miles or so.

The quote from Hydrazine (Tony) is the Owner of Motordyne, a company which specifies on the VQ engines. When Tony says something does or doesn't work, you can trust him to be telling the truth.

Here is an independent dyno day just on intakes, the purpose was to see which one works.

The results: http://xbcustoms.com/Rob/intakedyno.htm

Check out the Tech Area on the drop down menus, it will help answer a lot of questions. The Z-tube doesn't make power over stock, makes a bit more noise on higher rpm's and looks better than the G-tube.

Rev-Up Box - intake whistle ( put my stock back on, and it wasn't as loud, so I kept the Rev-Up and sold my Stock)
Z-Tube - intake growl
HR Y-Pipe - exhaust growl (Enhance VQ note)
Coupe Mid-Pipe - exhaust growl (Enhance VQ note)

These mods are all for sound, there is no power difference, even when combined you probably make 1-2 hp or even lose 1-2 hp.

Here is another member's experience, I went ahead and quoted from post #7
Quote: The max whp/wtq with the mods was 238.3 whp 215 wtq, and my stock parts put out 238.9 whp and 211.5 wtq. Needless to say, I'm staying stock.

I just like the way my Z tube and HR y pipe make the X have an old fashion v-8 rumble at low rpm.

It's all good. You can definitely look around here and find a few ways to bump up your HP if you keep your eyes open. I would check out the tech area, there's some good stuff in there.

With the Z tube I've found it about the same during normal driving for both sound and power, which seems to be inline with many reviews I read on this forum. At heavier throttle to wide open, power felt the same, and sound was more, though not a big difference as it's only noticeable at higher RPMs. Approaching 4000 RPM there's a light growl and air whistle/rushing sound. I was expecting more sound based on some review I read. I wanted to get a Z tube anyhow so didn't mind that it only made a small amount of intake noise. I had a 1992 Nissan Maxima SE before the G with a K&N cone filter and the air intake resonator removed, and had quite a bit more intake noise. More recently I removed the power duct and found the increased intake noise from that to be more comparable to the cone filter on my Maxima.

mine got much louder with the z tube.. if I floor it in the 4000-+ range it really howls..
I removed my "power duct" thing at tthe same time, so perhaps that increases the noise
