2003 G35 Sedan RWD

Hey all! I'm about to purchase a 2003 G35 sedan RWD with the 5 speed auto. This is going to be my first car. I'm not into speed or extreme looks, however, I like a low end V6 exhaust note. Are there any accessories I should install right away on my car? Also, do any of you know of any good exhaust kits that give the car a more pronounced exhaust note? My budget for extra spending is somewhere around $500.

Thank you very much in advance, and help and hints are greatly appreciated.

With $500 you can get a lot of things but it depends what you want in the end. True duals starts at $800+, catbacks start at $500, and mufflers around $200-$300ish. These are all "kits."

OR you can go with what many people including myself did. Get some HFC or test pipes, HR style Y pipe, and coupe mid pipe. Id say I got everything for about $300 total. But for used its even cheaper. It wont be as loud as a full exhaust system but way better than OEM sound.

Just buy the car, clean it, enjoy it...and research. When you are ready for mods...you'll know what to get.

To all: Thanks for the ideas! I appreciate forums alot, theres nowhere else you can get good advice these days! What I'll probably do is enjoy clean for a few weeks, and get test pipes and try a dual exhaust.

500 buck? I personally would do a complete tune up with that money. Chances are, the car has high mileage and is due for tune up.. such as spark plug, drive belts, filters, etc.

Great advice! If you have not done so already I would most definitely invest in this.
