Fix loose leather on door panel
 

The leather panel on my passenger door is starting to come loose at the top. The leather looks like it has a foam backing with some sort of adhesive affixed to it. I've been able to use a plastic wedge and push the leather back down, but it peels itself away after a few days. Anybody have any recommendations on an adhesive or tape solution? Anyone had the same problem?

i used 3M epoxy on the back of it, stretched it tight and put tape on it to hold it in place while it cured (24 hours) took the tape off and its been fine for a year

Thanks for the info. I have to get this done on my passenger side. Ive just been credit carding it back into place only to have it come off by the next day

Same problem on the same door. I tried blue loctite. Not holding up to well. Coming loose again after 1-2 months

i did krazy glue on my pass side.. and its still holding up.. now my driver side is peeling >.>

i think this time im going to use a clear silicone.

having the same problem on my drivers side door im going to go for the 3m

yea mine is doing it on my driver side door handle

What tape are you using? I tried packing tape which is the strongest adhesive tape Id like to put on the leather without any ill effects, but it comes loose, I also tried a Popsicle stick jammed into the space but it just came out.

i just ran painters blue tape along the seam, one piece followed the curve of the panel and i pressed it into the seam and the then i ran another piece right over the top just for good measure.

Gorilla glue and a small paint brush, perma fix.

My front door panels and one in the rear were coming loose on my 2003 G35 Coupe . I had it repaired by a "Professional". They used the Weldwood Spray Adhesive after taping off the areas with masking tape and newspaper. It seems to be holding. After watching them, I would do it myself if it comes loose again. Looks like Infinity blew the design since this happens so often. I asked my dealership about it and they referred me to a leather/vinyl repair guy.

same prob on myp assenger side. ive put swade on my altima interior with 3m spray glue but i had the whole piece off. i think the gorilla glue with a paint brush is a good plan.

I just used Loctite spray adhesive (the super heavy duty kind). A friend used this a year ago and it's still holding strong in this brutal Texas heat.

I used this too.

I did it when I had the panels off while installing speakers. easier to mask and spray.
