[B]Gas Guage issues....HELP?[B/]

I've been looking for a solution to this and have yet to be able to find one that gives me a solid answer. Battery was disconnected yesterday for some work and after I was finished and turned the car on, the gas guage was way past the low point and was literally on the 'E', well below what the car would consider empty. Is this a dealer only fix or will an ECU reset take care of it?

Have you tried taking it for a quick trip around the neighborhood (assuming everything else is running correctly)? It seems the ecu needs some time to think about problems before it flags them. I know have to drive about a half mile after I fill up my tires with air before my tpms sensor turns off. Not sure if the gas tank sensor will operate in the same fashion.

Thanks MikeDG, I don't actually see a pin for me to move the needle over. The needle starts out behind the 'E' and then when i start the car it moves up so that the top line in 'E' is covered, I'd load a picture but im at work and don't have the ability to load any pictures up. I may have to go to the stealership soon for a fix :-(
